Kyle is an extremely mobile QB with a high IQ and decision-making ability. Kyle has good speed in extending plays and excels at reading the defense with wicked, quick releases. Kyle is a master of precision and accuracy with incredible field vision. Kyle keeps his head on a swivel, scanning the safeties, corners, and linebackers to see what they are doing and if a blitz is coming. Once Kyle scans the box to help his reads, as the snap occurs, everything seems to just slow down magically. Then, with poise and a sense of calm, Kyle is able to see what he needs to see to make the proper post-snap reads, and with a beautiful touch on his throws, he connects with his receivers. Kyle can use his legs to keep the play alive when needed. Kyle is a strong leader who respects his teammates and coaches to get their job done and knows that they will deliver, putting him in a position to deliver on his end, too.
Last season in Middle School/8th grade Varsity MAC league, Kyle had 29 passing TDs, 1 rushing TD, with a 79% pass completion rate, and 1 interception. This season
Kyle's JV stats for 10 games: he went for 1663 passing yards, a 73% pass completion rate (149/204), rushed for 76 yards with 3 rushing TDs, and had 12 total passing TDs with only 4 interceptions.
Kyle's biggest improvements from last season are his deep ball, quicker decision-making, extending plays, his mobility, and his throwing technique/mechanics. Kyle trained for countless hours to elevate and sharpen each skill to take his game to the next level.
The most motivating or inspirational thing that happened last season that will push Kyle moving forward was seeing the seniors on Varsity getting emotional after losing their last game. It made Kyle want to come back next year and help the next senior class not have that same outcome. Also, he plans to continue competing for QB1 as a sophomore on Varsity next year.
What sets Kyle apart from any other player at his position is his "special sauce": he can extend plays and throw on the run while also boasting impressive accuracy. Also, Kyle prides himself on letting his game do his talking for him and showing respect to his teammates, coaches, and refs. Kyle refuses to get frazzled when things don't go his way and instead reminds himself, "Short memory, next play." Kyle has never lashed out at his teammates and never will. Kyle feels the QB position demands that the good, the bad, and everything in between rests solely on his shoulders; he walks that out accordingly as he leads by example.
What fuels Kyle's fire the most when he is on that field are 2 people: 1. On earth, his friend AJ Cucksey. AJ is Kyle's former teammate and one of his best friends, but he made the difficult decision to quit playing football this year due to having 8 brain tumors, knowing it was in his best interest to do so, health-wise. When Kyle takes the field, he always thinks about how AJ would do anything to be out there playing with him, so Kyle will never take playing the game of football for granted. AJ inspires him, motivates him, and pushes him to be the best he can be on and off the field. 2. In Heaven, God fuels Kyle because He has blessed him with the talent to play the game of football in the first place. Everything Kyle does on the field (and off of it), he does for Him and His glory.
Kyle handles adversity by remembering that his identity is NOT in football but in Jesus. Kyle knows he is not perfect and he will have bad games or throws, but at the end of the day, he knows Jesus loves him and is proud of him. When the game of football is said and done, Kyle knows that his purpose in life is bigger than football. Kyle also reminds himself to keep going...just keep moving the offense forward, play by play, no matter the pressure, no matter the multiple hits he takes, no matter the mistakes he makes; take responsibility, own it, and keep working hard. Kyle believes these are the intangibles of a winning QB. Kyle is right.
As far as playing in college, Kyle’s dream is, of course, to play at a D1 college. However, Kyle will go where he is wanted, be it D1, D2, D3, NAIA, or JuCO. Kyle's goal is to find the perfect fit to help him aspire to his fullest potential, whatever division level that turns out to be.
Kyle recognizes that he can control certain things, but not all things, and focuses on what is in his control (taking care of his body, proper rest and nutrition, effort, etc.) and not getting frustrated or beaten down by what he can't control (genes, size, luck/timing). The rest is up to God.
A coach can expect consistency, calm, composure, confidence, leadership, discipline, and grit, as well as great game IQ, maturity, and resilience every time Kyle takes the field.
Kyle's advice for those coming behind him is, "Work hard, don't complain, trust the process, and enjoy the journey, not just the final destination.”
Kyle's approach to choosing a school or program reveals his maturity and clear vision for the future. Guided by his mother’s advice to "go where you're wanted," Kyle prioritizes finding a school that sees him as more than just a football player—a program that values his character, potential, and commitment to growth. He’s looking for a program that emphasizes accountability, fosters a strong sense of family, and isn’t afraid to stand firm on faith-based principles.
This perspective not only reflects Kyle’s grounded nature but also showcases his understanding of what truly matters: a culture that nurtures players as individuals while pushing them to excel on and off the field. Any program fortunate enough to land Kyle will gain a leader who embodies discipline, resilience, and a team-first mentality. As Kyle continues his journey, his thoughtful approach to life and football will undoubtedly make him a cornerstone for any team lucky enough to have him.
I'm sure this young star, loaded with talent and potential, will continue to develop and elevate his game year after year and reach a high next-level opportunity. Kyle already excels on the field, in the classroom (4.0 unweighted GPA and 4.7 weighted GPA), and in his faith walk with God. These will never fail, and God will always be in control. Kyle's skills and talent are already ahead of his age, and his maturity and adaptability will surely aid him in his journey. There is no limit to how high Kyle can fly; watching the journey is what this young star brings to us. I know it will be must see TV. Personally, Kyle is an inspiration and encouragement, and there are some out there who do everything the right way for the right reasons with a perspective that challenges us all to step it up in all phases and trust God to handle the rest. Keep a close eye on Kyle and his growth and development as a player; he is a young man with purpose, drive, and a character that will impact everyone around him.
