Preston is a long, skilled, and versatile forward who brings elite-level offensive firepower and leadership to every floor he steps on. With smooth handles, deep shooting range, and next-level court vision, he's a problem in space and keeps defenders guessing. His scoring instincts are instinctual and lethal, with pull-ups, catch-and-shoot threes, and smart reads in the half court all coming naturally. He’s a high-IQ floor spacer who also plays with confidence and unselfishness, making those around him better. And when defenders close out too hard, he’s got the handles and length to attack downhill or create separation with a deadly step-back. Not to mention his rebounding impact on every game.
Preston averaged 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game this past season, carrying his team as both a playmaker and shot maker. A true offensive weapon, he also improved defensively, making his biggest improvement on-ball and continuing to work daily on his strength. That defensive growth, combined with his silky offensive game, helped him earn Player of the Year, All-State, and All-Conference honors, putting Mountain Range on the map. His shooting ability is next-level. He dropped 60 points in one game at the Colorado Live Showcase, burying 13 threes in a jaw-dropping performance that left scouts buzzing.
Currently playing with 24MD Team Daum on the AAU circuit, Preston is looking forward to the Recruit Look event in Kansas City (July 18–19) as his next opportunity to shine. He’s already earned full-ride offers from Mount Marty University and Laramie County, but he's not done chasing more. His goal this summer is to elevate his game even further, gain exposure, and keep adding to his offer list. With that edge, work ethic, and smooth shot, he’s poised to make noise throughout the live period.
This coming season, Preston’s mission is to lead his squad to the school's first-ever conference championship. Whether it’s a playoff run or a 3-point shootout, Preston doesn’t just show up; he shows out. He recently won the 3-point contest at the first annual Rocky Mountain League All-Star Game, capping off an incredible season with another trophy.
What fuels him is trash talk. Whether it’s from a player or someone in the crowd, it flips a switch. He responds with buckets and effort, letting his play speak loud and clear. When facing adversity, he simply works harder. The best advice he has ever received is, "When you’re asleep, someone else is out there working."
Off the court, Preston values academics and giving back. He’s been active in fundraising for causes like Breakthrough T1D, helped collect grant money for his school, and takes pride in being involved with his community’s unified sports teams. And when he’s not hooping, you’ll probably find him under the hood or behind the wheel. Preston has a serious passion for cars, whether he’s driving, racing, washing, or working on them.
I assess that Preston’s mix of size, skill, and shooting gives him instant value at the next level. He’s a true stretch-forward who plays with poise, vision, and toughness. His ability to lead, make winning plays, and produce in big moments makes him a difference-maker for any program looking to add a floor-spacing, high-IQ weapon.
With a full summer of AAU and a massive senior season ahead, expect Preston’s name to keep rising. He’s already earned major recognition, and his potential remains sky-high. He’s got the mindset, skill set, and motor to take his game as far as he’s willing to go, and based on the work he’s putting in, the ceiling keeps climbing. Sty tuned another monster season ahead.
