Joey is a dynamic stud who is shifty, athletic, and downright crafty. A three-level scorer with a silky smooth touch from beyond the arc, he’s got a wicked step-back that leaves defenders frozen. Off the bounce, his explosive change of pace and stutter moves make him a nightmare to guard. He can blow by defenders at will, stop on a dime for a pull-up, or take it strong to the rack, finishing through contact with fierce authority. Even when smothered by defenders, he creates his own shot with ease. Joey’s court vision is elite, delivering jaw-dropping dimes that keep defenses guessing. On the other end, Joey takes pride in mixing it up on the boards and is a rock-solid defender with sharp instincts.
This past season, Joey put up 14.5 points per game, shooting an efficient 50% from the field and 85% from the free-throw line. He also contributed 3.6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while taking an impressive 13 charges. Joey's biggest improvement this year came in his ball-handling and change of pace, allowing him to attack defenses more effectively. Defensively, he’s elevated his game, showing a newfound ability to lock in and disrupt opponents. With the offseason ahead, Joey’s focus is on building strength and quickness, adding another level of explosiveness to his already potent skill set. Staying with TNBA Premier 2027, Joey has his eyes set on winning big tournaments while continuing to elevate his defensive presence and all-around game. The Pitt Jam Fest and HoopGroup tournament in Mannheim are the biggest AAU events Joeyis is looking forward to, and he’s hungry to showcase his talents.
What fuels Joey’s fire is the energy of the crowd, the intensity of a chippy game, and the thrill of stepping up when the moment demands it. When adversity strikes, Joey slows the game down, keeping his team locked in and focused. This past season, a tough four-game losing streak taught him the importance of staying together, battling through, and closing out tight games. These were lessons that have paid off big time down the stretch. The best advice Joey has ever received is “Control what’s in your boat.” This mindset keeps Joey locked in, blocking out distractions and focusing on what he can control. With an electric game and a relentless work ethic, Joey is ready to take his development to new heights.
I assess that Joey’s ability to score at all three levels, combined with his high IQ and elite playmaking, makes him a dangerous offensive weapon. Joey's ambidexterity gives him an edge in both passing and scoring, making him unpredictable and difficult to defend. Joey's improved defensive instincts and willingness to take charges show his commitment to making an impact on both ends of the floor. At the collegiate level, his shifty ball-handling, explosive first step, and ability to create his own shot will allow him to thrive. As he continues to develop his strength and quickness, he’ll become even more of a mismatch. With his work ethic and ability to rise in big moments, Joey has the skill set and mentality to be an impact player at the next level.
