Evans is a skilled playmaker who plays at a ridiculously fast pace, whether it’s on the offensive or defensive side of the ball. This makes him very hard to deal with, being that he puts immense pressure on his opponents from both sides of the court. That fever pitch energy disrupts the flow of the game for everyone standing opposite him. The kid flat out plays every single game as if it’s his last. His greatest strengths are adjusting to players around him and getting them involved in the game. As a three level scoring option, he keeps defenders back on their heels and he uses his unlimited range to open everything up, whether when he plays half-court,or plays the fast pace game.
He is absolutely ready to show his coaches that he has not only the skill and the ability to be a scoring threat, but also that he can be a defensive nightmare as well as being a leader. He has put in a tremendous amount of work in an effort to strongly focus on improving all facets of his overall game.
What really fires him up, is when either a home or away crowd are rowdy and shaking the rafters in the gym. That is what gives him an instant adrenaline rush and even further lights the fire that burns deep down inside of him. For being such a young player, I am actually very impressed just how well this kid handles pressure. He is able to block out all the noise, and make adjustments to fix anything that is going wrong. Once this kid gets rolling, there’s simply no stopping him.
When asked what a coach can expect from him, he said “I play at a hectic pace on both sides of the ball. I focus on steal and fast breaks and I will always give it 110%.” His dream is to play college basketball, and I believe if he continues to put in the work, that is a very possible dream. He is already showing he has the skillset to be special. He plays at a ridiculously fast pace with VERY high energy. That simply can’t be taught. That is either something that is inside you, or it isn’t. Period. I will be keeping a very close eye on this kid for the next five years. He is only just getting started!
