Matt is an electric double-double machine. With size, length, and crafty athleticism, Matt is one touch cover. Matt can bring the rain from downtown, but if you play him tight or close out quickly with explosive moves and blowby speed, Matt blows his way to the rim. Solid mid-range game as well. and can create scoring opportunities even in tight spaces. With a high IQ and nice court vision being highly strategic with a strong foundation with a warrior mentality. Matt loves hitting open teammates, fueling them to get open. Matt is the Windex man on the boards, wiping them clean. Matt is a master of taking charges. and a defensive and rebounding pest. Matt lives in the weight room so he can use that strength to really help him dominate across the board. Matt is a complete player.

Most of his life revolves around basketball, but education is also super important to Matt and his family. Maintaining a 4.0 GPA takes up a lot of his time, but in his free time, Matt is also running a clothing manufacturing business, as he hopes to study business in the future.

Matt would say that my biggest improvement from last season to now is his size and strength. Matt had a great off-season schedule where he was able to have daily weight room sessions, as well as on-court workouts. Matt gained 20+ lbs of muscle, which has already noticeably helped his game this season. In terms of on-court skills, Matt and his trainers have put in countless hours working on his mid-range game. This season Matt has been showing the ability to score on all levels.

Matt is well known for taking charges on defense. To Matt, taking charge is the ultimate way to shift momentum and bring energy to your side. So if one of his teammates or himself takes charge, he is definitely getting fired up and bringing energy to the game.

Matt always looks forward to playing against top-ranked teams in both Canada and the US. It's always a great opportunity to play against players that Matt knows will be playing at the next level. Scoring 30+ points against EYBL teams like Ohio Buckets or top Canadian prep schools such as Crestwood and Orangeville Prep was a great opportunity to test himself against the elite in his class.

Matt believes without a doubt that his team will make a deep playoff run this season. If they continue to work towards unselfish, good basketball, they will be very hard to deal with. It is also a great feeling to look down the bench and see a team full of dogs who are committed to the game, just as much as Matt is.

Matt always brings a positive attitude to the game of basketball. Matt thinks that it's crucial to maintain good morale throughout the team. Matt is grateful to play for a team with great chemistry and passion. Playing a leadership role for his team means firing everyone up to fight with everything they have for the win. Matt thinks it's really important to lift your guys up when they're down.

Matt thinks that the best piece of advice he has ever received is to simply stay the course. Matt has always been the guy that just keeps showing up. There were definitely times when Matt doubted his abilities when he was younger, but he has learned that if you want something bad enough and you are willing to sacrifice for your goals, you will be rewarded for your work. The hard work is so worth it to Matt.

Matt has always had belief in his work ethic. Matt is blessed enough to have grown up and played with high-level players, so he has seen what it takes to get there. Matt believes that his work ethic and love for the game can take him to any level of play. IMatt is simply obsessed with the concept of growth as a player and a person.

It is definitely exciting to receive interest from schools that I wish to play for both here in Canada as well as in the US. Matt will continue to work his hardest every day to make a name for himself and prove that he can play at the next level.

I assess that Matt is certainly a high-level prospect with an intense work ethic and one heck of a winning attitude with a clear understanding of what it takes to succeed on the court and in the classroom. The action should continue to pick up as he continues to shine at a high level. His talent is certainly next-level ready, and he will continue to get better with his passion and work ethic. I'm hyped for this deep playoff run and am curious to see if the double-double machine keeps rolling. Stay tuned!
