"Command Center: The Crafty QB Who Sees It All and Strikes with Purpose"

Dayson Kirby, QB

@daysonkirby

6ft, 175lbs, Class of 2026

Bedford North Lawrence HS (IN)

Dayson is an electric, high-IQ quarterback with dynamic instincts and the tools to take over a game. He dissects defenses with accuracy, reading coverages with a surgeon’s eye and reacting with confidence. From strong protection to chaos on the move, he stays poised and in control, delivering strikes with timing and touch or slipping away with crafty elusiveness when protection breaks down. His quick feet and shiftiness outside the pocket turn pressure into punishment for defenders. Dayson isn’t just mobile, he’s dangerous when improvising, keeping his eyes downfield and delivering darts on the run. He never looks rattled and plays with a calm fire that coaches crave. What separates him is his command; he’s not out there just playing quarterback, he’s orchestrating every snap.

Last season, Dayson completed 112 of 200 passes for 1,434 yards and 13 touchdowns, numbers that only scratch the surface of his ability to lead an offense. This offseason, he’s locked into developing faster footwork and adding strength, both of which are already showing in his improved quickness and confidence. The pain of last year’s sectional loss to Greenwood still fuels him; he knows they had the pieces to win, and that sting is something he never wants to feel again. He’s approaching this year with a vengeance. The biggest improvement in his game has come from the weight room and the mental side, processing faster, making smarter reads, and knowing when to take off and when to hang in. He sees the whole field, feels the flow of coverages, and has elevated his ability to strike when the window opens.

With a brand-new coaching staff, Dayson says this year feels like a rebirth for the program. There's a new energy, a fresh start, and a locker room full of guys ready to prove themselves. His motivation is rooted in the opportunity to lead; he’s a grinder, a builder, and a competitor who embraces the process. He watches how corners and safeties move pre-snap, reading their depth and alignment to see how the field is about to open up. He’s not just reacting, but anticipating, and that vision sets him apart.

What fires Dayson up most is the game itself. The sound of the crowd, the feel of the turf, and that electric rush before the first snap, it all fuels his hunger. When facing adversity, he centers himself, locks in, and focuses on the little things, the details that lead into winning football. His mindset iis brick by brick. Faith plays a huge part in his journey. Dayson lives by Proverbs 16:3, committing his work to the Lord and trusting in the path ahead. His drive isn’t fueled by hype but built on consistency, effort, and a relentless will to improve.

He currently holds a D3 offer from Franklin College, and he’s been in strong talks with multiple D2 programs. Dayson’s also headed to the Manning Passing Academy and has a packed July schedule filled with camps and unofficial visits, showing he’s serious about elevating his game and finding the right collegiate fit, both athletically and academically. He’s looking for a school that matches his energy, builds players on and off the field, and provides a stage for growth.

I assess that Dayson brings an elite football mind, composure, and dual-threat ability that college coaches can build around. His ability to break down coverages, deliver accurate passes, and extend plays on the run makes him a dangerous weapon in any offense. He plays with purpose, elevates those around him, and approaches the game with maturity and intensity that’s rare.

With his improving physical tools and sharp mental game, Dayson is evolving into one of the most complete quarterbacks in his class. Expect a big season ahead, with stronger numbers, sharper execution, and more attention from college programs. His ceiling is sky-high, and he’s climbing with faith, work ethic, and hunger every step of the way. Stay tuned for a breakout season ahead under the new coach.
