When the lights were brightest and the stakes highest, one player stood above the rest, elevating, electrifying, and executing with ruthless brilliance. Silky. The nickname fits like a glove. With a game that glides and strikes in the same breath, Silky plays with a combination of poise, athleticism, and hunger that makes him nearly impossible to guard. A dynamic playmaker with explosive hops, insane body control, and relentless energy, Silky is the total package. Whether he's slashing through defenders, rising up for a vicious jam, or making a buttery dime, there's not a spot on the court he can't dominate. He scores in bunches, facilitates with flair, and defends with instinct. Silky’s got a fierce edge to him, and his intensity radiates. He doesn’t chase the spotlight, but the spotlight keeps finding him. And when it does, he puts on a show.

Silky’s game has grown even louder this season. He’s become a lethal three-level scorer, attacking with quickness and power off the bounce while shooting it clean from deep. With crafty footwork and a high IQ, he plays the game with control and explosiveness, threading the needle between flashy and efficient. He makes the extra pass, attacks angles before they open, and is a fierce defender who picks pockets and punishes mistakes with thunderous transitions. He leads not just with buckets, but with his voice. He took the reins of this team as its vocal engine and emotional heartbeat, and the results speak for themselves. Every championship team needs its leader, Upperman had Silky.

This historic season saw Silky averaging a jaw-dropping 28.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.3 steals per game while shooting a sizzling 59.9% from the field, 41.2% from three, and 83.3% from the stripe. These aren’t just numbers, they’re the proof of a problem few could solve. His improved outside shot and vocal leadership were game-changers. And the hardware piled up: Class 3A Mr. Basketball, State Tournament MVP, Upper Cumberland Player of the Year, First Team All-District, First Team All-Region. All of them are firsts in school history. But it didn’t stop there. Silky joined the 1,000-point club in just 47 games, set the school record with a 45-point outburst, and earned his first career triple-double on December 10th. From buzzer to buzzer, this was a season for the books.

Silky made his dream of reaching the state tournament a reality and didn’t just show up, he owned it. In the quarterfinals vs Hume Fogg, he poured in 28 points on 7-of-12 shooting. In the semifinals against Greeneville, he went nuclear with 35 points, 6 boards, and 2 steals. Then came the revenge title game vs. Tullahoma—Silky dominated again: 33 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists in a championship performance for the ages. Oh, and did we mention he went through both other Mr. Basketball finalists on the way to the crown? That’s different.

Behind this explosive charge was a relentless squad led by Coach Bobby McWilliams and his dedicated staff. The Killa Bees finished 29-4, with their stingers out every night. They battled noise, doubters, and adversity weekly but never flinched. This team didn’t just play with fire, they became the fire.

And they weren’t a one-man show. Bronzden Chaffin was the paint beast every title team dreams of. A bruising, athletic, two-sport beast, he bullied the glass, protected the rim, and even splashed the occasional triple. Chaffin’s size, toughness, and timing gave the Bees their one-two punch and made life miserable for every opponent they faced. Together, Silky and Chaffin were a fierce, thunder-and-lightning duo that took the state by storm.

But the buzz isn’t over yet. Silky is running with the Stars Basketball Club this AAU season, gunning for a third straight national title. The goal remains the same: get better every day, grow through every game, and keep proving the doubters wrong. Silky thrives off being the underdog—it fuels him. And with two D1 offers already on the table as a sophomore, he’s just getting started.

This Killa Bees squad made history. First state title. First Mr. Basketball. First MVP. First triple-double. First 45-point game. First of many. And the core’s coming back. The hive is alive, and the sting? Deadly.

Overall Evaluation: Silky is electric. He’s fierce. He’s lethal. He’s a flat-out phenom. A generational talent with next-level instincts and a relentless drive to win. He leads, he dominates, and he delivers. His ceiling is sky-high, and his foundation is solid. With a team-first mindset, insane skill set, and that rare ability to shine when the pressure hits, Silky has proven he’s not just one of the best in his class but he’s one of the best in the state, period. The future is bright for Upperman, and Silky’s star is only rising. Stay tuned.
