Cole is a tough, crafty guard who brings energy, athleticism, and a no-fear mentality to the court. His ability to attack downhill and finish through contact makes him a problem for defenders, and his unselfishness stands out, always looking to create easy looks for his teammates. He plays with a relentless edge when slashing to the rim and isn’t afraid to mix it up in the paint for rebounds. His handles are sick and creative, and his middy and touch around the rim keep defenders off balance. With continued development, particularly from beyond the arc and defensively, Cole is a guard with real potential and a hunger to earn every minute.
His journey so far already shows that potential is real. As a freshman, Cole played overseas for AE Sant Andreu de Natzaret in Spain, averaging 9 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals per game while shooting 80% from the line and 48% from the field. That early international experience gave him a head start in developing both his skill set and basketball IQ. This past season at Thomas Nelson, he faced limited varsity minutes, averaging only 3 per game on a roster loaded with 7 seniors, but made the most of every opportunity. On JV, he averaged 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals, showing his ability to consistently produce. On the AAU circuit with Central Kentucky Basketball Club’s 17U squad, he held his own against older competition, averaging 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals per game.
His biggest improvement has come in his three-point consistency, an area he’s worked hard to improve and is still building upon. His offseason priorities are focused on becoming a knockdown shooter, tightening his handles even further, and learning to read opposing ball handlers more effectively on the defensive end. A major moment in his year came when his team broke a three-year drought with a district win, helping shift the mindset of the program. That turnaround sparked belief and built momentum heading into next season.
Currently playing with Central Kentucky Elite, Cole’s AAU goals are locked in on gaining exposure and earning recognition from college programs. He’s excited about every opportunity to compete, knowing each game is a chance to prove he belongs. His eyes are set on helping Thomas Nelson make a run in districts, earn a regional berth, and continue rewriting their narrative. What fuels him most is the energy of the crowd and the support from the bench, those moments drive him to play harder, fight longer, and bring his team with him.
Adversity hasn’t broken Cole, it’s made him more grounded. He’s learned to silence doubt, reset mentally, and trust into his love for the game. The best coaching advice he’s received is, "Stop worrying about what others think and just play." That has freed him up to grow as a player and enjoy the game again. Off the court, he enjoys watching hoops and spending time with friends, but his heart is fully in the game, basketball is what he wants to do for the rest of his life.
Cole has the foundation of a guard who can be molded into a valuable asset at the next level. His fearlessness, feel for the game, and willingness to do the dirty work give him a strong base. With more experience and continued growth, he has the tools to become a sparkplug-type player who can shift the energy of a game.
This season will be key for Cole to turn the corner. As he earns more minutes and gains rhythm, expect his confidence and production to rise. He has the mindset and work ethic needed to evolve and if he continues to focus on development, there’s potential for him to be a difference maker down the stretch and a name worth remembering. Stay tuned for a breakout season ahead.
