Tyler is the ultimate blue-collar stud who ignites his team with hustle, energy, and pure grit being a downright scrappy player. With a high IQ and ability to check every box effectively while being a master facilitator with good size and speed, Tyler presents all sorts of problems for opposing teams. He handles the ball well and with great court vision and passing ability while being a very capable scorer with unlimited range you never know exactly how he will hurt you out there. Throw in the fact that he is a relentless defender who sacrifices his body to help his team and constantly looks to make those around him better. But that defense is his calling card as he loves guarding the other team’s best player. When Tyler can shut a player down, he feels he has done his job to help his team win.
This past season Tyler averaged 12.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.4 deflections per game. The most motivating thing that happened this past season that pushed Tyler to move forward was winning the conference regular season title for the first time in 46 years even though they lost in the conference tournament. Now Tyler is hungry for a conference championship which is the goal going into this coming season.
Playing AAU for Carolina Riptide Hickory 2025 Tyler's goals: were to win Championships and have a positive record. Scoring 247 points adding 138 rebounds, 90 assists, and 38 steals. We won two championships, the Phenom MDC and Phenom Summer Finale finishing the AAU session with a Team record 30-9 while also going undefeated at the Grassroots Finale Live Event, and finishing 2nd overall. A smashing success and a statement made!
What fuels Tyler's fire the most is putting the clamps on his opponent defensively. Nothing pumps Tyler up more. The personal challenge, the adrenaline, and the fierce intensity of battle to accomplish this keep Tyler's passion flowing on the court.
When things don’t go Tyler's way, he focuses on calming everyone down and making sure he and his teammates are doing the things they practiced.
Tyler feels his basketball IQ and defensive abilities set him apart as well. As his ability to be coached. Mix that with the high motor and willingness to do whatever it takes to win, you have a coach's dream player.
Tyler feels as though he can play at the D1 level, but also understands at his current size he needs to prove himself. Honestly, Tyler just wants a shot at any level to be able to prove he can compete and thrive on the college level period.
My assessment is Tyler has all the intangibles to not only play on the next level but impact the success of any team he plays for on both ends of the court. His strengths make him extremely valuable, he is so coachable and can process and adjust to things happening on the court quickly with his high IQ. The potential is tremendously high for this young star and with one more season to showcase all he brings after a great summer it's going to be a fun ride.
