Xavier is fundamentally awesome. From his elite shooting efficiency to his high-IQ decision-making, he brings a complete, polished game to the court. A fierce defender who talks, rotates, and embraces every assignment, he can stay in front of shifty guards or body-up post players with equal effectiveness. Offensively, he thrives as a strong ball-handler who makes the right read every time, attacking off the dribble, drawing defenders, and dishing out dimes to wide-open teammates. His jumper is lethal from mid-range and beyond the arc, and he does all the little things like boxing out, communicating, setting the tone with energy, and making his teammates better. Comparisons to Larry Bird aren’t just a compliment, they’re a reflection of how Xavier impacts the game on every possession without needing to be flashy. He’s tough, vocal, and always under control.
While his role on a stacked state championship team wasn’t centered on scoring, he still made his presence felt in every area. Previously averaging 11 points per game and knocking down 42% of his threes, Xavier’s true impact shows up in the plus-minus column, where he led the team at Blacksburg, proving how valuable he is whenever he’s on the court. This season, he’s stronger, quicker, and more explosive, thanks to intense weight room and agility work. That physical growth has allowed him to be more disruptive defensively and attack more confidently. His focus this offseason is finishing in the paint, using his improved speed and strength to become more of a scoring threat at the rim while still maintaining his unselfish, playmaking instincts.
Being part of a high-level program increased Xavier's edge, every practice was competitive, every rep meaningful. Now, heading into the travel season with Virginia Premier HGSL 17U, he’s surrounded by more talent and determined to stand out during live periods and attract even more college visits. He’s already drawn interest, but now he’s looking to separate himself, show how his game fits the next level, and find the right university. At Stuart Hall, he’ll return as a senior leader with one goal in mind: defend their VISSA D4 state title and prove again why no one outworks them.
Xavier is fueled by defense, and nothing gets him going, like clamping up, fighting through screens, and securing boards with contact. Scoring is great, but for him, it’s stops and hustle that win games. When things don’t go his way, it’s always on to the next play, next stop, next make. That resilience spreads throughout his team. With a mindset built for the college level and a game tailored for systems that value high-IQ, unselfish play, Xavier is already a next-level player preparing for a next-level future.
I assess that Xavier is a versatile, efficient, and physical guard who coaches can rely on in every phase of the game. His ability to stretch the floor, defend multiple positions, and elevate the play of those around him makes him a dream for structured systems. He brings toughness, communication, and elite efficiency to the table, and that’s before you even talk about his leadership and basketball IQ.
Heading into his 5th year as a senior, Xavier is equipped to be one of the most complete players in his class. His strength, maturity, and versatile impact will stand out this AAU season, especially with his all-business mentality and refusal to be outworked. Expect a college-ready leader who thrives under pressure, raises the ceiling for any roster, and never stops doing the things that help teams win. Xavier is the ultimate blue-collar stud ready for one last run in pursuit of another state championship. Stay tuned.
