Jacob is a one-man wrecking crew with skill, IQ, and dominance that leaps off the floor. He’s an absolute force of nature who brings the versatility of a wing, the strength of a big, and the defensive edge of a lockdown anchor. He is a three-level scorer with smooth touch from beyond the arc; he can bully his way inside or blow by defenders off the bounce for rim-rocking throwdowns. But he’s far from just a scorer. Jacob is a beast on the glass, a rim-protecting menace, a high-level shot blocker, and a capable facilitator who reads the floor with purpose. He brings a nonstop motor, elite rebounding on both ends, high-IQ rotations, and the ability to defend multiple positions. Whether it’s scoring, protecting the rim, making the right pass, or blowing up an offensive set, Big Jake sets the tone with physicality, unselfishness, and grit.
Coming off a monster season, Jacob averaged 20.6 points, 14.3 rebounds, 3.3 blocks, and 2.1 assists per game. And those numbers only hint at what he’s doing now. He’s exploded this summer on the AAU circuit with 816 Hoops, where he’s played since 8th grade, dominating every stage he's touched. Just this past weekend, he dropped 34, 30, and 30 in three games, finishing with 32 in another outing that included deep post work, three-point shooting, pick-and-roll action, and foul-drawing physicality. His mix of athleticism and effort is backed by a blistering 43%+ clip from deep and elite rebounding on both ends. He finishes above the rim, scores efficiently on all three levels, finds open teammates, and now defends the perimeter with confidence.
Jacob’s biggest improvement was his handles, perimeter defense, and shot consistency. With the help of high school and AAU coach Doug Burnett, he’s transformed his weaknesses into strengths, turning himself into a matchup nightmare. His summer is packed with live periods in Kansas City (7/10–13), Chicago (7/17–20), and Orlando (7/24–27), where he’ll look to keep showing the country just how far he’s come.
What fuels Jacob isn’t just the scoreboard but the opportunity to lead Penney to a state championship and make those who believe in him proud. When facing adversity, he embraces it as an opportunity to grow. The best advice he’s ever received is " Perfection isn’t the goal, control is." Off the court, Jacob is as intellectually curious as he is physically gifted. He enjoys reading, coding, and playing video games, and even quantum physics, showcasing the depth of a mind that sees the game and life on a deeper level.
I assess that Jacob’s inside-out skill set, relentless motor, and elite rebounding presence make him a plug-and-play asset for any college program. His ability to stretch the floor, defend multiple spots, anchor the paint, and initiate offense gives coaches a versatile weapon on both ends.
Jacob's stock is rising. As he continues to evolve his perimeter game and decision-making as a facilitator, he’s poised to be one of the most complete and dangerous forwards in the Class of 2026. Coaches watching live this summer won’t just see potential but production. The monster run hasn't slowed from last season. Expect him to continue making one last statement as he pursues that elusive state championship. Stay tuned.
