DJ is a fearless, high-motor combo guard who lives in attack mode. With explosive athleticism and a growing bag of offensive tools, DJ brings a mix of power and finesse that jumps off the page. He’s a dangerous downhill driver who welcomes contact, plays above the rim with authority, and thrives in the mid-range with a smooth, confident pull-up. His feel for the game is elite, making him a crafty passer and instinctive playmaker who can create for others while keeping pressure on the defense. What separates DJ is how he elevates those around him; his energy on defense spreads like wildfire, and once he locks in, the entire team follows his lead. He’s a leader with juice and a hunger that never fades, constantly pushing the pace and setting the tone on both ends.
This past season, DJ averaged 7.9 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, with his athleticism being his biggest improvement since last year. He's focused on expanding his three-point range both off the catch and dribble, as well as adding more creativity to his post-game and floaters. He’s been putting in real work, and it's already paying off. The most impactful moment of his season was catching the eye of D1 program Fresno State, a powerful motivator and a clear sign that his potential is getting noticed. DJ will be playing this July with Bates Fundamental 16U EYBL, with his eyes locked on Peach Jam and EYBL Session 4 in Georgia. His goal is to earn that first D1 offer and keep climbing. He's also looking forward to PHH Prep’s national scholastic league schedule next season and all the battles that come with it.
When the game gets tough, DJ becomes the voice in the huddle, reminding everyone that the clock hasn't struck triple zero and the fight isn't over. He doesn’t just talk leadership, he lives it. The best advice he ever received is , "Give all you have, even if it’s only 10%, because effort and heart are everything." He recently showed out at the Hardwood KC Classic with a standout 19-point, 6-rebound performance playing up with the KC Spurs 17U squad. That same energy and drive has earned him interest from several college programs, including Biola State and Fresno State, and his name is only gaining more traction.
DJ’s athleticism, scoring ability, and relentless intensity make him a good fit for any program in need of a spark. His mid-range touch, finishing power, and playmaking instincts give him serious two-way value, while his leadership and energy ignite a team from within. Coaches can expect a tough competitor who plays the right way and leaves everything on the court.
DJ is moving in the right direction with a fire that won’t stop burning. With continued growth in his outside shooting and inside finesse, expect his recruitment to surge. He’s built for high-level competition, and his motor, mindset, and maturity are the foundation for a high-ceiling guard who can lead, defend, and deliver when it matters most. Stay tuned.
