Gilbert brings a fierce, dynamic presence to the court as a versatile weapon with the size to bully mismatches and the finesse to dominate inside and out. He’s a crafty scorer with a lethal mid-range package, equally dangerous rising up for smooth pull-ups or attacking downhill with explosive physicality. He embraces every role a coach throws at him, whether he’s slashing through traffic, taking over late-game possessions, or creating space with powerful footwork and improved confidence. His game is fueled by energy, intensity, and the fire that flares when the crowd gets loud and the moment gets big. That’s when Gilbert goes to work.

After going from the bench to leading his team in total points this past season, Gilbert finished his junior year averaging 11.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 47% from the field and 68% at the line. The biggest improvement was his confidence and comfort on the ball, allowing his polished mid-range game to shine. But he’s not satisfied. This offseason, Gilbert’s focus is locked on improving his three-point shooting and tightening his handle by spending extra time on the shooting machine to become the reliable knockdown threat his team needs. And so far, early in this AAU session, it's paying off as he is knocking down threes at a high clip. His motivation comes from those early doubts, those who picked others over him and that surge of belief from proving them wrong.

Now suiting up for Drive Pro Select on the AAU circuit, Gilbert is turning heads again. Over his last four games, he’s been on a breakout tear, averaging 18.5 points per game with a relentless scoring rhythm and a fire to earn the college attention he deserves. His goal is clear: get on the radar and lock in offers. With strong performances on the NY2LA circuit and a fearless approach to big-game environments, he’s doing just that. Every game is a statement: every possession is an opportunity to showcase his growth, hunger, and readiness for the next level.

Off the court, Gilbert stays grounded. He leans on his faith and stays mentally sharp through journaling and meditation, tools that help him push through adversity and find calm in the chaos. When he's not in the gym, he cherishes the simple joy of being around his teammates and playing the game he loves. There’s no ego, no excuses, just a deep love for basketball and a willingness to do whatever it takes to turn dreams into reality.

What fuels Gilbert’s fire isn’t just competition. It’s connection. The energy from the bench, the roar after an and-1, the swing of momentum in a tight game. That’s where he thrives. He handles adversity by turning to God for strength, trusting in his plan, and staying locked in on his path. The best advice he’s ever received is, "Don’t overthink it — just be yourself. Let the love for the game lead you." That mindset keeps him hungry, humble, and motivated.

I assess that Gilbert is a versatile scoring threat with size, a polished mid-range arsenal, and a mentality built for big moments. His confidence, adaptability, and feel for the game make him a valuable piece on both ends of the floor. As his outside shot evolves even more and his handle continues to improve, he’s becoming a more complete and dangerous player.

College programs looking for a do-it-all wing with a chip on his shoulder and a hunger to compete should keep their eyes on Gilbert. He plays with heart, purpose, and rising skill, and his ability to play multiple roles makes him a plug-and-play asset at the next level.

Expect a senior season full of statement games and an AAU stretch that draws serious attention. His rise is just getting started. Stay tuned.
