North Laurel HS, KY

R.J. Noble is a fierce, versatile force who brings an electric mix of strength, craft, and control every time he lhits that court. With the physical tools to play inside and the ball skills of a guard, he’s a matchup nightmare. He is too powerful for wings, too crafty for bigs. R.J. has a smooth midrange game, finishes strong through contact, and sees the floor like a true floor general. His court presence is fearless, his pace deliberate, and his ability to read and respond to the flow of a game is next-level. Whether he’s muscling up in the paint, locking down on defense, or dropping a no-look dime in transition, there’s an unmistakable fire to the way he competes. His game crackles with confidence, and the fuse is always lit.

This past season, R.J. averaged 8 points and 5 rebounds per game while leading North Laurel in field goal percentage at an outrageous 62%. His biggest improvement was his scoring, going from situational freshman minutes to a reliable, go-to contributor in the starting lineup. Sliding into the 4/5 role was a challenge, but one he met head-on with grit and selflessness, helping drive his team to a Sweet 16 appearance. Now, he's focused on adding a consistent three-point shot, tightening his off-hand, and elevating his athleticism. His goal for next season is to double his numbers and dominate on both ends. What fuels RJ's fire is playing at his own pace, hitting shots, and letting his game dictate the rhythm. When facing adversity, RJ locks in. He doesn’t flinch, he hoops. He credits his mental toughness to the best advice he’s ever received: “No matter what, give it your all.” That mindset is stitched into every moment he steps on the floor.

R.J. will be playing with KY Future Elite 2027 this AAU season, where he plans to put himself on the map and stack offers. With a loaded tournament schedule ahead, he's ready to prove just how dynamic his game can be against elite competition. He’s looking forward to testing what he’s been building this offseason with his expanded perimeter game, quicker reads, and defensive intensity. Each event is a stage, and R.J. sees them as opportunities to both showcase and improve. The goal is simple but fierce: make waves and walk away with coaches remembering the name R.J. Noble.

Off the court, R.J. enjoys spending time with family, relaxing with friends, or finding moments to clear his head; he balances the grind with grounding. That time helps him stay centered and ready when the lights come on.

I assess that R.J. is a physically and mentally tough competitor who blends size with a high basketball IQ. He plays bigger than his frame inside, while showing flashes of a developing perimeter game that could make him a complete inside-out threat. His ability to adapt and impact games in new roles speaks volumes about his versatility and coachability. He’s a connector on the floor who makes winning plays and elevates the group.

R.J.’s mix of toughness, skill, and IQ gives him real value at the next level. As he continues building out his perimeter game and athleticism, his potential to stretch defenses and guard multiple positions will skyrocket. His motor, unselfishness, and ability to finish plays through contact are all qualities college programs crave. With his continued development, he could make an immediate impact as a multi-positional piece who fits in multiple systems.

Expect a breakout junior campaign. R.J. is hungry, focused, and gearing up to make a serious leap. He’s putting in the work to become a double-double machine, add range to his game, and become the kind of vocal leader that pushes teams deep into March. His ceiling is high, and with the right eyes on him this AAU season, his name won’t be quiet for long. Stay tuned.
