Hunter brings a versatile combination of strength, speed, and football IQ into the trenches, where his ability to play both offensive and defensive line gives him two completely different ways to impact a game. Hunter has been playing football since he was six years old, learning different schemes under different coaches and building an understanding of the game that now gives him an edge when the ball is snapped. His strength allows him to battle in the trenches, his speed can send him flying downfield to finish plays, and his football IQ helps him recognize what is developing before it has a chance to fully unfold.

This season has tested Hunter and his teammates with injuries and sickness, but those challenges have also revealed a brotherhood that refuses to fold when things become difficult. On the offensive line, Hunter has had several pancakes while remaining focused on simply doing his job and helping the offense succeed. His defensive production has exploded with more than 35 tackles during the last four games, showing just how active he has become at the point of attack and beyond it. Hunter knows there's still plenty he wants to improve, which is why his answer to a strong start remains attacking practice every day and making sure he's ready when game day comes.

That relentless motor was impossible to miss during his 10-tackle performance on the defensive line, especially when several of those stops required much more than winning a battle near the line of scrimmage. Hunter credited his outside linebackers for doing their jobs and helping create chances for him to make plays, showing the team-first mentality that drives his approach. His speed flashed when he sprinted more than 30 yards downfield to make tackles, a remarkable display for a lineman who spends much of his night battling in the trenches. Hunter believes that pursuit comes down to heart and his love for football, and neither allows him to quit on a play just because the ball moves away from him.

Strength and speed have become Hunter’s biggest improvements since last season, giving more bite to the physical weapons he already brings on both sides of the football. Those improvements didn't happen by accident because his offseason focused on becoming stronger and more mobile. Hunter stayed committed to the weight room, trained with a personal trainer, and attended several prospect camps to sharpen his skills against different competition. That work has helped create a more explosive lineman who can bring power into contact and still have the mobility to chase down plays far from where they began.

Hunter has already collected memorable experiences during his football journey, including playing in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl at Cowboys Stadium and competing at IMG Academy. Those events allowed him to meet coaches and talented players while testing himself in environments that helped expand his game. One moment stands above the others for Hunter, as IMG Academy contacted him this summer about playing football there for the following two years. Hunter called that an honor, and the opportunity became another reminder of where years of work, growth, and commitment have taken him.

Football has also taught Hunter lessons that go far beyond wins and losses because his journey has included the pain of games that didn't end the way he wanted. Losing is difficult, but Hunter believes those moments prepare him for life by teaching him how to push forward instead of giving up. Grit is at the heart of that mentality because adversity can't be avoided, but the response to it can always be controlled. Hunter has learned to continue fighting through difficult moments, understanding that those lessons can help shape the man he becomes long after his playing days are finished.

His offseason work was built on strength and mobility, while the weight room, personal training, and prospect camps kept him pushing his development from several angles. Hunter wants to continue working hard for the rest of this season and believes what happens on the field will speak for itself when the preparation has been handled correctly. His grind isn't built on shortcuts because every practice, workout, and camp gives him another chance to sharpen something that can show up when his team needs it.

Hunter’s football IQ becomes dangerous before the snap because he's already searching for clues that can tell him what might be coming. From the defensive line, he watches an offensive lineman’s hips for signs of run or pass, then studies the formation along with down and distance to help narrow the possibilities. Hunter uses those clues to get an idea of what may be coming, and that understanding gives his explosive strength and speed an even sharper edge. His coaches know they can count on him because taking plays off isn't part of how he approaches the game.

Hunter’s fire is fueled by something much deeper than stats, recognition, or anything football can give him. His faith in Jesus Christ drives him because Hunter believes God gave him the ability to play the game he loves, and he wants to give everything he has in return each day. He sees himself as blessed, and that belief pours directly into the heart, grit, and relentless pursuit he brings onto the field. For Hunter, the message is, as Jesus won and that truth continues fueling the fire behind everything he does.

I assess that Hunter brings a hard-nosed style to the trenches with the toughness to battle through contact and the athletic ability to make his presence felt from the opening snap. He plays with a fire that never seems to cool down, bringing the same intensity whether he is fighting in the trenches or chasing down the football. There's a physical edge to his game that fits perfectly with the way he loves to compete, and he refuses to give an opponent an easy snap.

Hunter has spent years learning the game, and that experience shows in how quickly he can recognize what's happening in front of him.
