Cooper steps onto the court with a smooth, confident presence. His shooting touch stretches the floor from anywhere and gives his team a steady, reliable threat every trip down. What makes him valuable is more than just the jumper. Cooper brings pure energy on defense, a tenacious on-ball defender, jumps passing lanes, and sparks intensity in everyone around him. He leads with fire, emotion, and a tone that lifts his group before the ball ever hits the hardwood.
This season, he opened with exactly the kind of balanced impact he is built for, putting up 10 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block in a strong win over Northview Academy. Even without varsity stats from last year, he showed glimpses of this during a Maryville College camp when he scored 20 against Lakeway’s varsity and led a comeback from down 16. That moment made him realize he was much better than how others viewed him, and now he is growing into a poised, reliable stat sheet stuffer who finds multiple ways to influence a game. His offseason focus remains centered on finishing through contact, expanding his physicality, and being a player who can impact winning even when the jumper isn’t falling.
Cooper is fired up to help this Pigeon Forge team make a run that the school has never seen, pushing to go farther than any group before them. He wants to beat rival GP in a bad way, and he is motivated every time a teammate locks down defensively on a possession. His coaches can always count on him to give everything he has, no matter the circumstance, and he approaches the season with purpose and belief in what this team can become.
When facing adversity, Cooper grounds himself in the one truth he holds firm. He knows Jesus Christ endured more adversity than anyone and finds strength, calm, and direction in that relationship. His faith anchors him and shapes the way he responds in tough stretches on and off the court.
The best coaching advice he has ever received is, Big-time players make big-time plays in big-time games. Cooper plans to continue growing into that type of player, and he believes he will play college basketball, even though he doesn’t have a specific interest yet.
Cooper’s shooting ability, defensive swagger, and willingness to impact the game in multiple categories give him the potential of a reliable future contributor at the next level. His energy, effort, and team-driven mindset make him a player who can elevate a program’s toughness and competitiveness.
As he develops his ability to finish through contact and gains varsity experience, Cooper could become a guard who fills the stat sheet and stabilizes games with his energy. Expect his confidence, leadership, and all-around production to continue rising as he grows into a key piece for Pigeon Forge’s pursuit of a historic season. Stay tuned.
