"The Rim Ruler: Blocking Shots, Breaking Records, and Bringing the Heat"

Peyton Hicks

6’7”, 210lbs | Class of 2026

Genoa Central HS, (Texarkana) AR

Peyton is a force every team dreams of anchoring the paint, long, athletic, and explosive with a versatile offensive arsenal and elite rim protection. But what sets him apart isn’t just his size or stats but the complete impact he makes on both ends of the floor. He’s a fierce competitor who thrives in pressure moments, elevates his play against top competition, and dominates the paint while stretching defenses with his smooth mid-range and three-point touch. With his willingness to do whatever it takes to win, whether that’s swatting shots, setting up teammates, or muscling for rebounds, Peyton brings a rare combination of selflessness, skill, and ferocity. He’s a 6’7” difference-maker who plays with relentless effort and a high basketball IQ, always locked in and always delivering.

This past season, Peyton averaged a monster double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds while adding 4 blocks per game, highlighted by a jaw-dropping triple-double performance of 25 points, 15 boards, and 10 blocks. His biggest improvement was his confidence and aggression, especially in big-time matchups where he consistently stepped up and made game-changing plays. He helped lead Genoa Central to its first back-to-back regional appearances and the first 20+ win season in school history, proving just how vital his presence is to the program. Now heading into a summer full of challenges, he’s focusing on tightening his handle, improving his consistency from deep, and becoming more explosive around the rim. With upperclassmen graduating, Peyton is ready to take full control of the scoring load while continuing to protect the paint with authority.

This AAU season, Peyton is playing for the Sticks Texarkana BallHawks and will be competing at the Kingwood Classic in Houston, hyped to test himself against some of the best. He’s embracing the role of leader and understands the work needed to dominate in tight games. What fuels him is competition, he loves the pressure, the physicality, and the challenge of high-level opponents. He lives for the close finishes, the hostile gyms, and the opportunity to prove himself when the lights are brightest.

Off the court, Peyton is just as focused. He carries a 3.8 GPA, a 24 ACT score (with plans to retake), and is already earning college credit through concurrent courses. His sights are set on an engineering degree, matching the same intelligence and discipline he shows on the hardwood. He holds onto the best coaching advice he’s ever received, "Do everything at 100%". This lesson shows up in how he trains, competes, and leads.

I assess that Peyton’s blend of size, defensive dominance, and offensive versatility makes him a valuable asset to any college program. His ability to anchor the paint while stretching the floor offensively creates matchup problems and opens up the court for teammates. Programs looking for a high-motor, unselfish big who plays with passion and precision will find a perfect fit in Peyton.

Expect Peyton to evolve into a centerpiece. With more opportunity, expanded offensive responsibility, and continued physical growth, he’s poised to explode as a two-way star. His potential is sky-high, already an elite rim protector with scoring range, leadership qualities, and a fierce competitive fire. The best is still ahead. Stay tuned.
