Kyla is a fierce, versatile shooting guard who plays the game with fire in her soul and ice in her veins. She brings a rare mix of offensive range and attacking mindset, earning her reputation as a natural scorer who thrives on getting to the line and delivering at an 85% clip. What separates Kyla from others at her position is her fearless ability to score through contact, her confidence from deep, and her unshakable presence in high-pressure moments. Coaches can expect a relentless competitor who attacks the rim, stretches the floor, and gives everything on both ends, all while owning her role as a leader with poise and pride. She's not just playing the game, she’s taking command of it every time she steps on the floor.
With 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists per game, Kyla was a stat sheet stuffer while splitting time as a swing player. Her biggest improvement was her ball handling and learning to finish through tough defense. This offseason, she’s putting in the work to elevate her mid-range attack and continue building her strength as a three-level scorer. She's already increased her 3-point shooting percentage and is driven by goals bigger than stats, like becoming a varsity contributor as a freshman, making deep tournament runs, and lifting her team’s production. Kyla’s proudest achievements include a Big Country Championship and competing at the MAYB National Championship in OKC, and she’s just getting started.
Kyla plays her summer ball with Amarillo G Ballers and sharpens her game under the intense development of the Austin Johnson Academy of Hoops. This offseason, she’s focused on becoming a more physical, confident guard who can dominate both with and without the ball. She lives for the hustle, diving for loose balls, playing fierce on-ball defense, and making winning plays that don't always show up in the box score. Her leadership is emerging just as fast as her skillset, and she wants to guide her squad with energy, toughness, and vocal encouragement on and off the court.
Off the court, her mindset is grounded in growth and gratitude. Kyla owns a 3.7 GPA, serves on the student council, and competes in track (100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100, 4x200, and high jump), showcasing the same explosive athleticism she brings to the basketball floor. In her free time, she stays centered by being around family and friends, the same support system that fuels her dream of playing at the next level.
I assess that Kyla’s dynamic mix of perimeter shooting, attacking ability, and gritty leadership makes her a dangerous weapon for any college program. Her high IQ, fearless confidence, and defensive focus will immediately raise the competitive edge of any roster she joins. With her effort and work ethic, she’s a coach’s dream being dependable, electric, and always evolving.
Kyla is trending toward becoming a complete, high-impact guard. Expect her to grow into a dominant two-way player with big-time potential. Her offensive versatility and nonstop motor point to a bright future where she won’t just play at the next level but thrive. Stay tuned.
