Ryan has built his game on toughness, versatility, and a nonstop motor that never seems to cool off. He's the type of player who can punish opponents on the block, step out and hit a middy jumper, stretch the defense beyond the arc, and then turn around and make life miserable on the defensive end. While his skill set continues to expand, his identity begins with rebounding. Ryan attacks the boards with a relentless mentality, creating extra possessions, cleaning up misses, and generating second-chance opportunities that can completely change the momentum of a game. Whether it is grabbing an offensive board for a putback, kicking the ball out for another look, or locking down the paint defensively, he impacts winning in countless ways. Add in his physical defense, willingness to do the dirty work, and all-out effort every possession, and it is easy to see why he has become such a difficult matchup.

His high school season at Eagan was a valuable step in his development. Playing varsity basketball for the first time on a team loaded with talent and experience, Ryan embraced every opportunity to learn and improve. Competing with a veteran group that had 8 seniors and 2 juniors, including standout players Alex Schroepfer and Kevin Kemp, pushed him to elevate his game every day. By the middle of the season, he had worked his way into a big role and became a key contributor for one of the toughest teams in the highly competitive South Suburban Conference. His hard work paid off with All-Conference Honorable Mention honors, an accomplishment that stands out because it represented an entire season of growth, sacrifice, and commitment to helping his team succeed. Carrying that momentum into AAU basketball with MN Fury, Ryan has continued chasing improvement while testing himself against strong competition throughout the Prep Basketball circuit.

His spring and summer have been filled with memorable moments. A 4-0 championship run at Madness in the Midwest showcased his ability to impact winning basketball, while strong shooting performances continued to show the versatility in his game. Among all of his accomplishments, however, Ryan points to earning All-Conference Honorable Mention as the achievement that means the most because it reflected months of consistent work and contributions to team success. Still, a dominant performance against Comets Elite where he finished with 18 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, and shot 100% from the floor certainly deserves recognition as one of the most impressive games of his young career.

One of Ryan's strongest performances this AAU season came during the Prep Hoops Upper Midwest Finals in a bruising battle against MN Explosive. In a game that felt like a heavyweight fight from start to finish, he controlled the boards and finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds in a hard-fought Fury victory. The physicality was relentless all game long. Opponents familiar with his game did everything possible to keep him away from the basketball, using constant contact and physical play to make every possession difficult. Ryan responded exactly how tough players respond. He relied on his strength, speed, versatility, and determination to battle through the chaos and continue producing.

What stood out most was his understanding of positioning. Every time a shot went up, opponents tried to push him away from the rim using pure force. Ryan countered with a strong base, smart body positioning, and an understanding of where the ball was likely to bounce. He consistently gained inside leverage, creating an advantage before the rebound even came off the rim. Once the ball touched his hands, the possession was over. He secured rebounds with authority and refused to allow opponents second chances. It was a strong display of timing, toughness, and intensity that showcased the part of his game he takes the most pride in.

For Ryan, rebounding is much more than collecting stats. It serves as the heartbeat of his game. He believes his rebounding effort is often the clearest indication of whether he is fully locked into a game mentally. When he establishes himself on the glass, everything else begins to flow naturally. The scoring opportunities arrive. The defensive impact grows. The confidence builds. It all starts with setting the tone through relentless work around the basket.

One of the biggest battles Ryan faced this season was not an opponent but the pressure he placed on himself mentally. He became consumed with the idea that every possession needed to be perfect and that every mistake meant he was letting his teammates down. That mindset caused him to play cautiously at times and prevented him from taking some of the chances necessary to reach another level. Eventually, he realized that perfection is impossible in basketball and that mistakes are simply part of growth. Once he let go of that pressure and trusted the work he had put in, everything changed. He began playing with greater confidence, more freedom, and a stronger belief in his abilities. That mental breakthrough became one of the most important developments in his game over the last year and helped unlock a more aggressive and confident version of himself.

Looking ahead, Ryan's focus is locked in on making his senior season at Eagan something special. With a roster that will feature very little varsity experience, he understands the responsibility that comes with helping establish the culture and standard for the team. He wants to continue mastering every area of his game while also becoming the best leader possible. He takes leadership seriously because he understands the lessons learned through basketball extend far beyond the court. Coaches can expect maximum effort every single time he steps on the floor. Whether he is battling for rebounds, setting screens, diving for loose balls, protecting the rim, raining in perimeter shots, or locking down opponents defensively, Ryan approaches every possession with relentless energy and commitment. From the opening tip until the final buzzer, he gives everything he has.

I assess that Ryan is a rugged, versatile frontcourt player whose value extends well beyond scoring. His rebounding instincts, toughness, positioning, and willingness to embrace physical play make him an impact player on both ends of the floor. He understands how to impact winning without needing plays called for him and consistently provides energy, effort, and production that teammates feed off of.

Ryan's future is bright because his game is built around traits that translate to every level of basketball. Rebounding, toughness, defensive commitment, leadership, and effort are qualities coaches are always searching for. As his offensive game continues to expand and his confidence grows, his overall impact will continue rising. Expect him to enter his senior season as a tone setter, a leader, and one of the players capable of impacting games in multiple ways.
