RJ brings a fast-paced, explosive brand of basketball that instantly changes the energy on the floor. He attacks the game with athleticism, toughness, and confidence while constantly finding ways to impact winning on both ends. Whether he’s flying downhill to the rim, raining in the catch-and-shoot threes, setting teammates up for easy buckets, or disrupting offenses defensively, RJ stays active every possession and forces opponents to stay locked in at all times.
RJ describes himself as an all-around guard, and that description fits perfectly when watching the way he controls different parts of the game. He has the athletic blow-by speed to get downhill quickly off the bounce and finish strong through contact while also stretching defenses with improved outside shooting. Add in his passing ability and defensive intensity, and suddenly you’re dealing with a guard capable of hurting teams in several different ways throughout the course of a game.
His production already reflects that all-around impact. RJ averaged 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists per game while continuing to grow into a bigger role. The rebounding numbers stand out because they show the energy and toughness he brings beyond scoring. He competes hard around the ball, stays involved in every possession, and understands how to affect games outside of simply putting points on the board.
One of the biggest areas of improvement in RJ’s game has been his three-point shooting, defensive intensity, and overall winner mentality. That growth is helping unlock another level because now defenses have to respect him both attacking off the bounce and from the perimeter. On the defensive end, he’s becoming more disruptive on and off the ball, using his athleticism and energy to pressure opponents and create difficult possessions.
RJ also talked about understanding when his team needs him to step up and bring energy. That awareness matters because some players wait for games to come to them. RJ wants to help change momentum. He embraces the moments when toughness, emotion, and effort are needed most, and those are often the players teammates naturally feed off during battles.
Like every athlete chasing another level, adversity comes with the process. RJ handles difficult moments by constantly talking himself through the game and staying mentally locked in possession after possession. That self-belief and internal composure help him stay steady even during tough stretches while continuing to compete hard.
This offseason the focus is to tighten the ball-handling and adding strength physically. Those developments could open even more doors in his game because his athleticism, finishing ability, and defensive intensity already create problems. As his handle continues to improve and his body continues getting stronger, expect his ability to control games offensively to continue climbing.
Right now, RJ may not have offers yet, but the tools are there. Athletic guards who defend, attack the rim, rebound, create for teammates, and bring consistent energy always attract attention over time. Coaches love players who impact multiple areas of the game while competing with effort every possession, and RJ brings exactly that type of mentality.
Moving forward, expect RJ to continue evolving into a complete two-way guard capable of influencing games with athleticism, pace, toughness, and defensive pressure. The confidence is growing, the offensive game is expanding, the leadership qualities are developing, and the hunger to improve every part of his game continues pushing him toward another level.
I assess that RJ is an athletic two-way guard with strong downhill ability, intense defense, and the versatility to contribute in multiple ways. His finishing around the rim, rebounding effort, and ability to create opportunities for teammates allow him to impact games in several different ways. He competes with strong energy, embraces physical basketball, and brings toughness that helps fuel team momentum.
RJ has the tools to continue developing into a highly effective all-around guard because of his athleticism, competitive approach, and expanding offensive game. His improving perimeter shot, combined with defensive intensity and playmaking, gives him strong potential moving forward. As his ball-handling tightens and physical strength continues improving, his overall offensive control and consistency should rise even more. Coaches looking for an energetic guard who competes hard, attacks on both ends, and continues to improve will keep finding reasons to follow RJ’s growth closely. Stay tuned.
