Tristan brings a smooth, electric presence to the floor that instantly elevates the energy in any gym. As a skilled combo guard who plays with poise, control, and natural rhythm, he attacks from all angles with a creative scoring touch that jumps off the page. His three level scoring is built on pace, body control, and a confident handles that allows him to collapse defenses, rise into tough shots, and make big time plays when the lights shine brightest. He is dangerous off the catch, crafty off the dribble, and fearless driving into traffic. Tristan’s on-ball defense is fierce and disciplined; his positioning is smart, and his ability to take the ball away turns broken plays into fast-break fireworks. Every time he steps on the court, he brings a competitive fire, steady leadership, and a winning mindset that coaches can depend on without hesitation.

His numbers from last season speak loud and clear of a young guard steadily climbing. Tristan stacked 523 points, 94 rebounds, 53 assists, 58 steals, 44 deflections, 8 blocks, and 9 charges with shooting splits of 61 percent from two, 34 percent from deep, and 74 percent at the line. That production helped power him to 4A RI D3 All District MVP, 4A TABC All Region, Academic All District, Graham Tournament MVP, and Hobbs News Sun First Team honors. His improvement came from confidence, discipline, and consistency. He learned to create shots with his body, stay patient in traffic, read defenses quicker, and commit to defense possession after possession. This offseason, he focused on strength, explosiveness, lateral quickness, playmaking out of drives, and finishing through contact. He stepped into a bigger role and proved he could hold his own against top competition. That challenge not only elevated his game, it sparked something inside him.

And then the season opener hit like a warning shot to the entire region. In just 25 minutes, Tristan erupted for 31 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, delivered 5 assists, swiped 8 steals, and added a block. He flew around the floor with speed, purpose, and total command. It was the performance of a rising problem, the kind of effort that sends a message before the calendar even flips: he is coming, and he is coming fast.

Rivalry games help shape players, and Tristan thrives on that environment. Andrews Mustangs bring out a different buzz every year. The gym gets loud, emotions rise, and the intensity becomes something you feel in your chest. It is a matchup he circles every season because it forces him to elevate, stay locked in, and compete with a higher level of edge. What fuels him in those moments is energy, effort, fearless shot-making, locked-in defense, and a relentless competitive drive to help his team win in whatever way is needed.

This year, he is stepping into true leadership. Taking on more responsibility, setting the tone early, guiding teammates, and showing the work he put in all summer. Tristan's goal is to have a breakout year and a deep playoff push. He welcomes the pressure, the tough finishes, the big defensive swipes, and the moments when everything swings on one possession. When facing adversity, he stays calm, responds with effort, communicates more, and trusts the work he stacked behind closed doors. The best advice that stuck with him comes from his dad: make the opponent play the game at your pace. That mindset allows him to slow the game down, see the floor clearly, and control the moment instead of letting the moment control him.

Off the court, Tristan is grounded in family, faith, and connection. He enjoys time with loved ones, going to church, gaming with teammates, hanging with friends, and studying film of his favorite guards to learn new angles, moves, and reads. He has interest but no offers yet. That only fuels him more. He is focused on getting bigger, creating opportunities, and earning his shot. Texas Tech, Baylor, Houston, Abilene Christian, and Tarleton stand out, but any program that believes in him would be a blessing. His hunger is real, and his focus is serious. He is fully committed to elevating his game and proving he belongs at the next level.

I assess that Tristan’s combines poise, three-level scoring, defensive activity, and natural pace gives him a skill set that translates smoothly into a college program. His ability to control tempo, pressure defenses with his handle, and disrupt opponents with active hands would immediately strengthen a backcourt. Programs will value his competitiveness, shot creation, and reliability when the game tightens.

Expect Tristan to keep rising. His aggression, work ethic, and confidence are pushing him into a true breakout season. As he continues to add strength, expand his playmaking, and lean into leadership, his potential goes far beyond where he stands today. With his mindset and improvement curve, he is poised to become one of the most impactful guards in his class. Stay tuned.
