Joshua is an electric and versatile guard who plays the game with a smooth mix of confidence, craft, and relentless energy. He can rise off a screen and knock down a jumper with a clean release, or shift into playmaker mode and thread perfect passes that open the floor for everyone around him. His hustle is nonstop, and his effort jumps off the court from the moment the ball is tipped. Every possession he attacks with purpose, giving his coaches a player they can trust to bring intensity, movement, and instinctive decision-making.
This past scrimmage showed exactly how dynamic he can be as he poured in 17 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, snagged 2 steals, and shot 62 percent from beyond the arc. His biggest improvement from last year has been in his court vision and ability to read the game in real-time. He understands where to be, when to go, when to move the ball, and how to create something out of nothing. This growth in awareness has unlocked a sharper version of his game, one built on patience, IQ, and confidence.
Joshua is hungry, entering this offseason with clear goals. He wants to expand his shooting, tighten his handle, and continue molding himself into a complete guard who can score, facilitate, and defend with equal pride. Last season, he felt the impact of playing with his basketball family, knowing every game meant battling with brothers who pushed and supported each other. This season, he cannot wait to face rivals like Sealy High School and attack every matchup with heart and determination. His coaches know exactly what they are getting from him, a player who hustles, sprints back on defense, and makes up for every mistake with the kind of effort that never stops until the final whistle.
He is fueled by the rush of a made shot, the crowd rising, the energy pulsing through the gym as teammates lift him up. When adversity hits, he absorbs it and responds with better play. He holds tight to the best coaching message he ever received, never quit and keep pushing because winning programs fight from start to finish. Off the court, he stays locked in, working on his game and reminding himself that progress never sleeps.
Joshua dreams of playing college basketball one day with LSU, North Carolina, and the University of Houston at the top of his list. The way he approaches the game, that dream stays well within reach.
I assess that Joshua brings an impactful style that can elevate an entire program. His shooting touch, versatile scoring, and willingness to distribute make him a guard who improves every lineup he steps into. His high motor on defense, combined with his emerging IQ and feel for the game, gives him the ability to influence possessions on both ends of the floor. A college program would benefit from his competitive fire, work ethic, and steady improvement as he continues to grow into his skill set.
Expect Joshua to rise even higher this season. His confidence as a scorer is building, his playmaking instincts continue to evolve, and his willingness to work makes his ceiling rise fast. If he keeps developing his handles and expanding his shooting ability, he will become a dangerous three-level threat with a fearless approach. His potential is strong, and he is heading into a year where he can make a powerful leap forward and become one of the most exciting players in his class. Stay tuned.
