Some guards avoid contact, while others guards avoid pressure, but Carmine attacks both with a grin on his face and a confidence that never wavers. The Siren star has built his reputation on being a crafty, physical, and relentless playmaker who can hurt defenses from every angle. Whether he is blowing by defenders off the bounce, finishing through traffic, knocking down shots from deep, or delivering a perfectly timed dime to a teammate, Carmine plays the game with a swagger and toughness that immediately jumps off the floor. Pressure rarely rattles him because he has spent countless hours preparing for it, and when defenses decide to speed him up, they often discover they are playing directly into his hands.

At the heart of Carmine's game is his ability to score at all three levels while controlling the flow of the game as a lead guard. His handles are one of his greatest weapons, allowing him to break pressure, create separation, and get wherever he wants on the floor. Defenders can crowd him, trap him, or try to force him into uncomfortable situations, but he remains poised because of the work he has put into his craft. If a lane opens, he attacks it. His sophomore season at Siren showcased just how much his game has grown. Carmine averaged 16.7 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals per game while serving as the engine that drove much of the team's offense. He embraced the responsibility of being the primary creator and took pride in impacting every area of the game. One of his most memorable performances came against South Shore when he exploded for 21 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 blocks while shooting better than 50 percent from the field. More importantly, Siren walked away with the win, and the performance highlighted his ability to completely take over a game when the moment demanded it. Beyond the numbers, the biggest lesson from the season was learning how to lead. With an expanded role came greater responsibility, and Carmine answered the challenge by setting the tone night after night.

That fearless style did not appear overnight. Growing up, Carmine spent years competing against his older brother, learning quickly that toughness was not optional. As a smaller guard, he developed an edge because he constantly had to prove himself. Contact became something to embrace rather than avoid. Physical defenders became challenges rather than obstacles. That mentality still drives him today and helps explain why he consistently finds success attacking the paint against bigger opponents. He trusts his preparation, trusts his strength, and trusts the countless hours of work that have prepared him for those moments.

The summer has provided another opportunity to test himself. Playing up with Northwest Elite's 17U team forced Carmine to compete against bigger, older, and more experienced players on a regular basis. Rather than shy away from the challenge, he welcomed it. Every game became another opportunity to prove his game translates regardless of age group or competition level. His combination of skill, toughness, and basketball IQ helped him make an impact while contributing to a lot of winning. More recently, he joined Coach Curtis and the Rising Stars, a situation he has thoroughly enjoyed because of the pace they play with and the style that fits his game. The experience has continued helping him prepare for what promises to be an exciting junior season.

One of the biggest improvements in Carmine's game has been his decision-making and shooting. He has become more patient, more efficient, and more comfortable reading defenses. Instead of rushing possessions, he now understands how to control tempo and use pacing to his advantage. That growth has made him an even more dangerous offensive player because defenders never know whether he is about to attack, pull up, or create for a teammate. The result has been a more complete player capable of impacting games in countless ways.

Being a standout two-sport athlete has also played a major role in his development. Football has helped build the strength, toughness, and grit that define his basketball identity. Hours spent in the weight room have increased his explosiveness, quickness, and overall athleticism. His strength allows him to stay low, attack defenders aggressively, and finish through contact. Football also taught him how to read situations on the fly and react instantly, a skill that translates directly to attacking defenses on the basketball court. Whether he is reading a running lane on the football field or a driving lane on the court, the principles remain remarkably similar. Perhaps most importantly, football reinforced the belief that toughness and competitiveness can overcome size disadvantages, and that mindset shows up every time Carmine steps on the floor.

While basketball has brought many great memories, the journey has also included adversity. Playing at a smaller school with a young and inexperienced team meant enduring difficult lessons and tough losses. Off the court, Carmine faced challenges that tested him in ways basketball never could. Growing up with a mostly absent mother following his parents' separation and later losing his older brother, who played a major role in his love for the game, created hardships that would have broken many people. Instead, those experiences strengthened him. Add in the constant doubts surrounding his size as a 5'9 point guard, and it becomes easy to understand where his relentless work ethic came from. Every obstacle became fuel. Every setback became motivation, and every challenge became another reason to keep pushing forward.

Behind the scenes, the grind never stops. Carmine spends his time lifting, attending open gyms, running hill sprints, and getting extra shots up whenever possible. The focus remains on consistency because he understands improvement is built through daily habits. His goals for the remainder of AAU are simple. Continue competing at a high level, continue helping his teams win, and continue earning college opportunities. Looking ahead to next season, he wants to become an even bigger offensive threat while embracing the leadership role his coaches believe he is capable of handling. Coaches can expect toughness, scoring, leadership, defensive intensity, and a player willing to guard anyone on the floor.
