Gavin is a dynamic three-level scorer with outstanding size for a combo guard; he creates matchup problems with his ability to score inside, rain in shots from deep, and make defenders pay with a punishing middy. His game goes well beyond putting the ball in the basket, though. Gavin's court vision, unselfish playmaking, and willingness to make the extra pass keep an offense flowing, while his length, quickness, and relentless energy allow him to guard multiple positions and disrupt opponents on the defensive end. Whether he is creating for teammates, locking down a scorer, battling on the boards, or making the winning play that never shows up on the stat sheet, he brings the same team-first approach every time he steps on the court.

His sophomore season came on a veteran team loaded with seniors, making every minute and every opportunity something that had to be earned. Gavin averaged 5.5 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 0.6 steals while continuing to grow his confidence and expand his role throughout the season. Instead of becoming frustrated by limited opportunities, he embraced the challenge and kept preparing for his moment. That hard work has shown in a big way during this summer's high school live period, where he has elevated his production to 12.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1 steal per game. One of his favorite memories from the season came on a perfectly timed backdoor cut that ended with an alley-oop finish and an unforgettable celebration from his teammates. It was more than just two points because it represented the chemistry and excitement that this team shared throughout the year.

That momentum has carried right into the AAU season with BBD MHC, where the nationally ranked squad has stormed to a remarkable 23-1 record by playing together and trusting one another. Gavin has embraced whatever role is needed on any given day, whether that means knocking down shots, defending the opposing team's top scorer, creating opportunities for teammates, or simply bringing energy that lifts everyone around him. His willingness to sacrifice individual numbers for team success has become one of the biggest reasons this talented group continues finding ways to win. That same mindset was on full display at DMV Live, where Gavin went off for 20 points to help BBD MHC improve to 3-0. He credits his recent success to the game slowing down, allowing him to play comfortably at his own pace while trusting both his teammates and his shot whenever opportunities present themselves.

One of the biggest improvements in Gavin's game has been becoming a true two-way player. Offensively, he has learned how to move without the basketball, creating easier scoring opportunities instead of relying solely on the dribble. Defensively, he has become more physical, using his length to disrupt passing lanes, switch onto multiple positions, and battle harder on the boards. Those improvements have helped transform him into a player capable of impacting the game on both ends every single possession and have made him an even more valuable piece for every team he steps onto.

Adversity arrived in the form of patience. Competing for minutes behind an experienced senior-heavy lineup required maturity that many young players never develop. Instead of allowing frustration to become a distraction, Gavin focused on controlling the things he could control by bringing maximum effort, maintaining a positive attitude, and staying prepared every single day. That experience strengthened his resilience, sharpened his discipline, and built confidence that now shows every time he steps onto the floor against top competition.

The behind-the-scenes work reflects the same consistency people see during games. Between team practices, weight room sessions, shooting workouts, and skill development with Coach Akeem, Gavin continues investing in every area of his game. Rather than avoiding nationally known players, he welcomes those opportunities because they allow him to measure himself against elite competition and prove he belongs on the same floor with anyone. That competitive mindset continues pushing him toward new levels every time he competes.

Coaches know exactly what they are getting with Gavin every time he checks into a game. They are getting a player who competes with relentless effort, values winning above personal stats, makes smart decisions, controls tempo, and willingly does whatever his team needs to be successful. As another season approaches, expect an even stronger, more confident, and more polished version of Gavin. I assess that Gavin brings versatility to the floor with his ability to score at all three levels, create for teammates, defend multiple positions, and impact winning in countless ways that often go unnoticed. His combination of size, basketball IQ, unselfishness, and two-way production gives him tremendous value, while his willingness to embrace any role makes him the kind of player every coach loves having on the roster.
