With the ball on a string, Carter dictates tempo and keeps defenses on their heels, creating opportunities for teammates while scoring with efficiency himself. His vision allows him to see plays before they unfold, delivering thread-the-needle dimes that set up easy buckets and keep the offense flowing. Add in his leadership and poise, and he’s the steady presence every team needs, a guard who controls the game while bringing energy and composure to the floor. Defensively, he’s a DOGG, pressuring the ball, disrupting passing lanes, and making big stops that spark momentum.

As a freshman on JV, Carter averaged 8 points per game while boasting an impressive 3.5-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. He added 7 rebounds and 4 steals per game, showcasing his ability to be a stat sheet stuffer. His efficiency was elite, hitting 55% from the field, while his presence as a communicator and leader brought his team tightly together. That balance of facilitating, defending, and stepping up as a vocal leader at such a young age has set the tone for what’s ahead.

This offseason, Carter has locked in on building strength and improving the consistency of his shot. Already a strong distributor, his focus on becoming more of a scoring threat will elevate both his game and his team’s potential. What fuels him most are the moments where defense shifts the game, big stops, forced turnovers, and the energy that follows. He thrives on being the one to make that impact.

Carter handles adversity by staying composed, choosing to be the bigger person, and keeping his focus on effort and team success. Supported by coaches who have all left an imprint on his growth, he carries their lessons both on and off the court. He’s looking forward to competing with high-caliber teams, winning, and making an impact every time he steps onto the floor.

Off the court, Carter values family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. That balance reflects in his game, a grounded competitor with grit, intelligence, and the drive to lead.

I assess that Carter’s ability to facilitate an offense, combined with his defensive tenacity, makes him a valuable piece for any program. His high assist-to-turnover ratio demonstrates maturity and IQ beyond his years, while his motor and leadership set him apart from most players his age. He can control the flow of a game while impacting winning in multiple ways.

As he builds strength and sharpens his scoring consistency, Carter’s all-around impact will only grow. Expect him to continue emerging as a floor general, defensive anchor, and vocal leader, traits that make him a future standout with the potential to thrive at higher levels of competition. Stay tuned for a statement season ahead.
