Hudson isn't worried about stuffing the stat sheet or chasing the spotlight. He is focused on doing whatever his team needs to win. One possession, he is raining in a catch-and-shoot three; the next, he is creating his own shot, battling for a rebound in traffic, protecting the rim, or locking up the other team's best scorer. That willingness to embrace every challenge is what makes Hudson such a valuable piece every time he steps on the floor. His game is built around toughness, versatility, and a team-first mindset that never takes a play off.
His high school season was one to remember as his team finished with an outstanding 26-6 record before falling to a very good opponent in the state semifinals. While his individual numbers may not have jumped off the page, Hudson never measured success that way. His coaches trusted him to chase rebounds, dive for loose balls, pressure the ball the length of the floor, and take good shots whenever the opportunity came. He accepted every assignment without hesitation because winning meant more than personal stats. Winning a district championship was a great accomplishment, but the team's sights were set even higher with a state title serving as the ultimate goal.
Following the high school season, Hudson continued his development with Austin Rivers Elite. Although the team didn't produce the record they hoped for, the experience became another important step in his growth. As the season progressed, the group began building chemistry while Hudson averaged 14 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game. He admits he didn't accomplish every AAU goal he set before the season, but instead of looking at it as a disappointment, he views it as another chapter that helped shape him into a better basketball player. Sometimes growth doesn't always show up in the win-loss column, and Hudson understands that better than most.
One of the biggest improvements in his game came with his ball-handling and his mid-range scoring. Those improvements didn't happen by accident. They came from countless hours of repetition, staying patient with the process, and putting in work long after everyone else had gone home. Every workout became another opportunity to elevate the parts of his game that would make him an even tougher matchup.
Hudson carried that same mindset when he played for Panhandle Prospects. His role was to be the difference-maker. Whatever the game called for, he answered. If the team needed rebounds, he attacked the boards. If they needed someone to guard every position on the floor, he accepted the challenge. If hustle plays were needed to swing momentum, he was ready for those too. He never limited himself to one responsibility because he wanted to impact every possession in every possible way.
Behind the scenes, the work never stops. Hudson has spent this offseason continuing to improve his shot, tighten his ball-handling, and build more strength in the weight room. He knows there is still another level waiting for him, and every workout is another step toward reaching it. That steady commitment to getting better every single day continues to shape both his confidence and his game.
The biggest motivation behind everything Hudson does is his family. They are on his mind every time he steps onto the court, and that purpose fuels the effort and determination he brings every single day. Basketball is about much more than the game itself because every sacrifice and every hour of work is driven by the people who mean the most to him.
Ask Hudson what a coach can expect, and the answer is whatever the team needs, he will do it. If he's asked to grab a big rebound, he'll battle until he gets it. If he's asked to guard the opponent's best scorer, he'll embrace the challenge without blinking. That team-first mentality has become part of his identity and one of the biggest reasons coaches can trust him in any situation.
As he prepares for the upcoming season, Hudson is determined to make an even bigger impact on both ends of the floor while helping lead his team toward its ultimate goal of winning a state championship. Expect a stronger, more confident, and more complete basketball player who will continue doing all the little things that help teams win while making plenty of big plays along the way.
I assess that Hudson's versatility is what immediately stands out. He can score from the perimeter, create his own offense, finish around the basket, rebound at a high level, defend multiple positions, and make winning plays that don't always show up on the stat sheet. His willingness to accept any role, combined with his nonstop energy and improving offensive skill set, makes him a valuable piece in every lineup.
Hudson brings an unselfish approach that every coach loves because his first thought is always about helping the team win. His continued growth as a ball-handler, scorer, and overall playmaker, along with his commitment in the weight room and his defensive versatility, gives him all the tools to make an even greater impact this season. Don't be surprised if his impact goes far beyond the numbers as he helps push his team toward another deep postseason run. Stay tuned.
