Gibson is a dream crusher off the edge, explosive, powerful, and downright fierce. He thrives on chaos, using a lethal mix of speed, strength, and a relentless motor to wreck offensive game plans and disrupt flow. His instincts are electric, reading plays instantly, and exploding into the backfield with violent precision. Coaches know exactly what separates Gibson from the rest is his refusal to be outworked, his versatility to win with both quickness and raw power, and his fiery hunger to dominate every snap. He is the definition of a DOGG that's dynamic, crafty, and unstoppable.
As a junior, Gibson had 82 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, 28 quarterback pressures, and a fumble recovery, numbers that scream dominance. Through just three games of this season, he’s already totaled 17 tackles, 6 TFLs, 2 sacks, 14 pressures, and a batted ball, showing that he’s locked in. His offseason focus was to add mass, add speed, and add explosion. Gaining 25 pounds while cutting his 40 time down through explosive drills has transformed him into an even more dangerous weapon. Motivated by his sheer hatred for losing and sharpened by a competitive fire, Gibson is proving to be a tone-setter every Friday night.
What’s even more impressive is how he approaches the mental side of the game. Gibson locks in on the quarterback and offensive line, dissecting hints and using film study to exploit mismatches. His ability to react instantly once the ball moves makes him a nightmare to contain. But beyond skill, he takes pride in his relentless work ethic, both in the weight room and on the field. He knows that outworking everyone is the key to success, and he refuses to let anyone surpass him. His drive is amplified by the trust instilled by new coach Brayden Tidd, who has rejuvenated the team’s confidence and culture after a turbulent year. Gibson has embraced that leadership role, pushing himself and his teammates to believe and perform at their highest level.
For Gibson, the love of the game is rooted in competition. He doesn’t need fancy speeches or flashy motivation, his fuel is hateing to lose. That’s why every rep, every lift, every film session matters. He wants to win, and he’ll do whatever it takes to make that happen. He’s open about his goals, wanting to play football at the right fit, in a program that values both winning and academics. With offers already in hand from schools like Wabash, Indiana Wesleyan, and DePauw, and interest from programs like Indiana State, Butler, and Ferris State, it’s clear that coaches at every level are taking notice of his talent, work ethic, and leadership.
I assess that Gibson's explosiveness off the line, the strength to overpower blockers, and the motor to chase plays down from anywhere make him a coach’s dream. His instincts and ability to read offenses add another level of danger, making him a versatile defensive weapon who can thrive in multiple schemes. Programs looking for an edge presence who sets the tone physically and mentally will find a game-changer in him. His work ethic and leadership guarantee he’ll elevate not just his play, but the standard of his entire unit.
Gibson’s ceiling is sky-high. Expect him to continue piling up disruptive plays, making sacks, and bringing relentless energy that tilts the game in his team’s favor. With his physical growth, improved explosiveness, and relentless drive, he has the potential to become a defensive cornerstone at the next level. Coaches can bank on his consistency, hunger, and impact, knowing he’s only scratching the surface of what he can become. Gibson is not just a defender, but a force that opposing offenses will have to game plan around every single week. With determination to make a statement his final season, expect him to a monster you can't contain. Stay tuned.
