Zane is a confident, sharpshooter with unlimited range, comfortable letting it fly the moment he has space. He stretches the floor immediately and keeps defenses honest every possession. He plays with calm control, a good feel for timing, and understands how to get to his spots without forcing the game. His instincts on the defensive end show up naturally, and he moves the ball well, making smart reads that keep the offense flowing.
The jump from his sophomore season to now validates how much his game has grown. After averaging 5.6 points and 2.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore with 141 total points, Zane has taken a clear step forward as a junior averaging 13 points and 5 rebounds per game, with 49 made threes at a 35 percent clip and 85 percent from the free throw line. That production is due to his improved confidence and better control of pace, allowing him to slow the game down, extend his range, and score within the flow.
Zane lives in the gym, working on his shot, focusing on real-game-speed reps and situations that translate directly to games. While shooting is his calling card, he continues to build the rest of his game by working on ball-handling, scoring in the paint, assisting, and rebounding. His goals are to win games, make a playoff run, and keep improving year over year to help his team compete at a high level.
What fuels him most is seeing his teammates score when defenses load up on him. As multiple defenders close out his way, he embraces the attention and takes pride in opening the floor for others. When teammates take advantage of those looks, it energizes him and lifts the team. He has also handled adversity with maturity, earning a starting role each year despite multiple coaching changes, proving his consistency and trust factor.
Looking ahead, Zane wants to continue playing basketball at the next level while earning the best education possible. With a 4.0 GPA and strengths in science and math, he brings value well beyond the stat sheet. His steady rise, work habits, and visible growth point to a player whose potential continues to rise.
I assess that Zane’s shooting ability immediately impacts a college offense. His unlimited range forces defenders to extend early, creating space and clean opportunities for others. He values possessions, understands spacing, and fits naturally into systems that rely on movement and decision-making. His defensive instincts and willingness to move the ball add to his reliability on both ends.
Moving forward, Zane is poised to be a guard whose game continues to expand as his confidence and strength grow. As he adds more scoring inside the arc, improves rebounding, and sharpens his playmaking, his overall impact will rise. With his academic excellence, work ethic, and year-over-year growth already evident, he is evolving into a dependable next-level guard who contributes to winning basketball. Stay tuned.
