6’3, 160lbs, Class of 2028

Poway HS, CA

Shooting Guard / Small Forward

Luke is a lethal marksman from deep who also brings toughness, versatility, and relentless competitiveness to the floor. He has earned the reputation of being “automatic” from beyond the arc, punishing defenders the second they leave him space. But his game doesn’t stop there, close out too hard, and he’ll blow past with a quick first step into a smooth middy, or a crafty finish at the rim. Add in good floor vision, dazzling passing, and lockdown defense, and you get a player who impacts winning in every phase of the game.

His production speaks for itself. Averaging 20 points per game, while shooting a blistering 75% from three, 80% at the free throw line, plus 10 rebounds, 5 steals, and 5 blocks per game, Luke has proven he’s far more than a shooter. He’s a consistent two-way force who rebounds with grit, guards multiple positions, and makes momentum-shifting plays on both ends. His breakout moment came at the Stage Circuit’s Final Act 2024 when he lit up San Diego All Stars Premier for 26 points, including 8 threes at an 80% clip, while also gobbling up 10 rebounds. Performances like that don’t happen by accident; they show his dedication, toughness, and complete skillset.

This past season, Luke also adjusted easily to the American style of play after starring for Newcastle Eagles U16 in the UK. He embraced the faster pace, longer shot clock, and team leadership role, proving his adaptability and basketball IQ. With his AAU squad 4S Elite, he helped lead them all the way to the 3SSB championship game at the Earn Your Stripes tournament, showing his ability to thrive in big moments.

Luke isn’t slowing down, either. He’s grinding in the offseason, tightening his handles, improving stamina, and getting stronger in the gym. He’s also working on his midrange pull-up to complement his lethal outside shot. Coaches who’ve mentored him stress the same message: offense may open doors, but defense keeps you on the court, and Luke has embraced that, becoming a reliable stopper and competitor who doesn’t shy away from responsibility.

Next season, his goal is to earn a Varsity spot as a sophomore and push Poway High into the state tournament. Fired up by his teammates and motivated by both wins and setbacks, he thrives on resilience and understands the value of a “short memory” in basketball, moving past missed shots or tough calls to stay locked in on the next play.

Off the court, Luke keeps a balance of competitiveness and joy, whether hanging with friends, going to the beach, gaming on Xbox, or even trying his hand at football this year. But make no mistake, basketball is where his passion lies. With his elite shooting, strong defense, and all-around consistency, Luke is quickly becoming one of the most exciting Class of 2028 prospects to watch.

I assess that Luke’s lethal perimeter shooting, combined with his defensive motor and rebounding presence, gives him the tools to be a high-impact player at the next level. His confidence, IQ, and ability to create for himself or others make him a player who can change the momentum of games and elevate his entire team.

Expect Luke’s name to keep rising on big stages. His consistency, fearless approach, and relentless work ethic suggest he’s only scratching the surface of what he can become. With his mix of scoring, defense, and leadership, he’s on track to develop into a complete two-way player that coaches at the highest levels will want in their program. Stay tuned for a statement season ahead, where making varsity is just the beginning of a career of must-see TV.
