Gavin is the definition of a complete guard: high IQ, relentless worker, and a proven shot-maker who thrives under pressure. He’s a four-level scorer with a lethal three-point rainmaker, quick release, and the body control to finish through contact. Defenders can’t afford to sag off because of his unlimited range, yet when they close out too hard, he punishes them by attacking seams and finding teammates with dazzling dimes. What sets him apart is not just his ability to score, but his understanding of the game. He carves up defenses, sees rotations before they happen, and dictates pace with maturity beyond his years. Coaches know every time he steps on the floor, he brings toughness, versatility, and the will to win.

This past season, Gavin averaged 13.4 points, 3.2 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game, but his impact went well beyond the numbers. He played a key role as the sixth man behind elite talent, including Jamairon Batemn, soaking up knowledge and making winning plays on a championship team. His biggest improvement came on the defensive end, where he elevated his aggressiveness, anticipation, and rebounding presence. Offensively, he elevated his ability to create and score at all four levels, while his offseason focus has been on improving his handles under pressure and getting stronger. That work has already paid off with his first D1 offer from SIU Edwardsville. A 2025 Division 3 state champion, he now has his eyes set on a return to Madison and chasing back-to-back titles.

For Gavin, doubt is fuel. When questioned, he grinds harder. When facing adversity, he pushes forward instead of back, refusing to let setbacks define him. The best coaching advice he’s ever received is, "Be himself, play his game, and never imitate anyone else". That mentality is what makes him special. He’s a hard worker with a passion for the game, a leader who thrives in big moments, and a player who brings value on both ends of the floor.

Off the court, Gavin enjoys pickleball, time with family, and the balance that allows him to step on the floor refreshed and locked in. With a 4.0 GPA, he’s as sharp in the classroom as he is on the court, proving that his discipline and focus carry into every area of his life.

I assess that Gavin has the potential to elevate a program instantly. His ability to knock down shots from deep while defending at a high level gives him two-way value that translates to the next level. Add that with his IQ, leadership, and championship experience, and you have a guard who can become the backbone of a winning system.

Looking ahead, Gavin’s ceiling is sky-high. His commitment to strength development, tighter handles, and overall growth ensures he’ll only get better.
