"Sharpshooter with a Statement: Fire, Focus, and a Global Vision"

Finn Barnes

@Finnbarnes52

5’11, 140lbs, Class of 2029

Western Heights College State, Victoria

Finn Barnes plays the game with fearless energy and a sharp, skill-heavy approach that turns heads. A true floor general from Australia, Finn combines smooth shooting, crafty playmaking, and a pass-first mentality with growing defensive tenacity. He applies relentless pressure in the full court, especially when matched against quick guards, using his speed and instincts to make life difficult for opposing ball-handlers. On offense, his quickness, improved handles, and ability to create off the dribble make him dangerous every trip down the floor. Whether he’s finding an open teammate or rising up for a jumper, Finn brings confidence and control to the point guard position.

During the 2024 season, Finn averaged 14 points per game with multiple 20–30-point outings while competing in the highest league in Victoria. That production reflects a major improvement from the previous year, especially in his speed and ball handling, as he took command of the offense every possession. Playing in the National Junior Classic was one of his most impactful experiences, competing against elite-level talent in big moments sharpened his focus and fueled his growth. Now, his sights are set on taking his game to that next level as he moves into the top age bracket in U16 play, where more responsibility and opportunity await.

He’s grinding hard in the gym to develop his athleticism, with one specific goal to get closer to dunking and expanding his explosiveness. While his game continues to evolve, it’s his motivation that truly separates him. Being snubbed from the state program despite outperforming others lit a fire within him, and he’s out to prove every doubter wrong. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and handles adversity with calm composure, staying locked in on what works and moving forward without losing confidence. The best advice he carries with him is, "Let it go. Don’t dwell on mistakes, focus on the next play and keep pushing forward."

Finn isn’t just chasing improvement, he’s chasing a dream. With hopes to one day play basketball in the United States during high school, he’s seeking the exposure and opportunities that will let him shine on a global stage. His game, mindset, and competitive fire are already laying the foundation.

Finn brings a lethal shooting touch, elite effort, and rising point guard instincts to the floor. His combination of scoring ability, passing vision, and improving defense make him a valuable lead guard with untapped potential, especially for programs looking beyond borders.

As he continues to build strength and athleticism, expect Finn to become a true dual threat that's capable of taking over games and elevating teammates. His hunger, humility, and willingness to work make him a rising international name worth watching in the Class of 2027, international style. Stay tuned.
