JD is an electric sniper with a high IQ, amazing court vision, and athleticism. JD has a smooth touch from the outside but can explode off the bounce and finish strong at the rim. JD excels as both a point guard and shooting guard, consistently hitting three-pointers (40%) JD can act as a floor general - controlling the game. Also, he can thread the needle with some sweet passes. He is a defensive gem with incredible awareness and excellent anticipation, allowing him to generate steals and disrupt passing lanes.
One of the most motivating moments of last year that will push JD forward is his AAU team made it to the elite 8 out of 150 teams on the Puma circuit. This motivated JD a lot - he saw he could compete at a high level. However, JD realizes he still has a lot more work to do. He isn’t satisfied with these results. JS believes he can still play at an even higher level. JD's goals for next season are to master his role, have more ways to get his shot, and be a lockdown defender on the perimeter.
Playing for TN United, for AAU JD's goals were to improve on the defensive end. Specifically, with on-ball defense and getting around screens.
What fuels JD is knowing he always has something to prove. Also, JD knows he is more prepared than anyone on the court. He trusts the work he puts in.
JD handles adversity on the court by just playing his game and not letting anything or anyone get in his head.
What sets JD apart from others is his self-discipline work ethic and leadership. JD shoots hundreds of threes each day. Also, free throws, and ball handling before or after practice.
JD sees himself playing D1 or D2.
I assess that JD is a versatile shooting guard who could also handle the ball and score effectively to match his athleticism and lethal shooting. His defense sets him apart by itself. This young stud has a very high ceiling with the potential to really be something special with all his intangibles. He has a high skill level already with nothing but time to elevate his skills. He is never satisfied, and hungry to be the best he can be. Get JD on the radar cause this will be a fun ride to see. There is no limit to how high he can fly. Stay tuned.
