Jaxon is a versatile player who thrives in multiple roles. With his length and athleticism, he runs the floor well in transition, finishes at the rim, and finds opportunities to rain shots around the perimeter. His wingspan makes him a factor on defense, where he contests shots and gets boards, while his unselfish, team-first mindset keeps him locked into doing the little things that help his team win. Coaches can count on him for hustle, effort, and a positive presence every time he steps onto the court.

Last season as a sophomore, Jaxon played in 13 varsity games and made valuable contributions in limited minutes. He shot 40% from beyond the arc, hitting six of fifteen attempts. The biggest improvement in his game has been his strength, as he continues to work on using his size to finish through contact. His offseason has been dedicated to improving his consistency as a shooter, developing quicker feet on defense, and building on his conditioning.

A defining moment came when Desales upset #15-ranked North Oldham, where Jaxon pulled down a rebound and drilled a three-pointer in the same stretch to help swing the game. That performance helped grow his confidence and fueled his belief that he can make an impact at key moments. He also spent the summer focused on AAU goals of developing quick first steps to the basket, solid mid-range and perimeter shooting, and stronger rebounding. Looking ahead to his junior season, he’s focused on contributing more through rebounding and perimeter shooting, while being a steady, accountable presence for his team.

What fires him up most is playing in a high-energy environment where both the team and the crowd are engaged. Jaxon handles adversity by staying locked in on what matters most, winning, and reminds himself that mistakes can be corrected through practice and hard work. He leans on the best coaching advice he’s ever received: to find more than one way to impact the game, whether it’s through rebounding, defense, or hustle plays.

Off the court, Jaxon enjoys building connections with teammates, enjoying time together in class, team dinners, or just hanging out. Away from basketball, he enjoys golfing and gaming with friends, keeping balance in his life while continuing to grow as both a player and a person.

I assess that Jaxon’s mix of length, energy, and willingness to impact games in multiple ways gives him real value to a college program. His shooting touch, effort on the boards, and defensive presence complement his ability to do the small things that elevate a team’s success.

As he continues to grow stronger and more consistent, Jaxon has the potential to develop into a fierce, versatile piece who can fill gaps and provide energy on both ends. With his unselfish nature and steady improvement, he’s poised to have big role and bring winning intangibles wherever he plays. Stay tuned for a breakout season ahead.
