Hickman HS, MO

Hunter is a fierce, high-IQ point guard who brings a rare blend of composure, hustle, and feel to every game. He plays with a measured pace but never stops moving, constantly pressuring on defense, making dazzling dimes, and stepping up in the biggest moments. His game is built on gritty defense, elite decision-making, and a smooth shooting touch that stretches the floor and keeps defenders guessing. What separates Hunter from most at his position is his ability to stay calm and locked in when the pressure rises. He thrives in high-stakes environments, running the show with poise, heart, and total control. Coaches can expect a selfless competitor who brings energy, grit, and a deep understanding of how to win, no matter the moment, no matter the matchup.

Coming off a breakout high school season as a starter at Hickman, Hunter has been lighting up the AAU scene with Mid Mo Phenom 17U. In his most recent tournament, he averaged 19.5 points, 4.2 steals, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists per game, a complete stat line that reflects his two-way dominance and nonstop motor. His shooting has been a major strength, but it’s his ability to read defenses, handle pressure, and create quality shots that truly stand out. This offseason, he’s locked in on expanding his offensive bag while working on his pull-up midrange, finishing at the rim, and developing his all-around IQ at the point guard position. The biggest improvement has come in how he controls the tempo and leads under pressure, a skill sharpened by the high-energy playoff battles he thrived in during the high school season.

Hunter’s goals this AAU season are to dominate on the floor, catch the attention of college coaches, and earn his shot at the next level. He’s determined to showcase the grind he’s put in and, more importantly, prove that size can’t measure heart. He’s fired up by his love for the game, a passion so strong that just stepping onto the court gets him going. What drives him isn’t rankings or recognition, it’s proving himself against every challenge, using adversity as fuel, and embracing every ounce of underdog energy that pushes him to keep getting better.

Hunter has developed the mental side of his game just as intensely. He’s overcome size-related doubt his whole life and turned it into a mindset built on toughness, adaptation, and belief. When facing adversity, he stays composed, lifts his teammates, and stays locked into the mission. The best advice that’s fueled his confidence came from Coach Cray Logan, who simply told him every single day: “Shoot the ball.” Those three words unlocked a mindset shift, and now Hunter steps into every game, ready to let it fly.

I assess that Hunter’s defensive motor, floor leadership, and fearless shot-making make him a valuable asset for any college program. He brings the full package of energy, execution, and intangibles and elevates everyone around him while putting his own stamp on every game. His toughness and basketball mind can anchor a roster and set the tone on both ends.

Hunter is a rising point guard with the fire, work ethic, and all-around game to keep climbing. His recent AAU production shows just how dangerous he can be when trusted to lead. Expect him to continue evolving into a commanding floor general who delivers under pressure and proves that the biggest impact doesn't always come from the tallest player but the fiercest. This dog has a big bite! Stay tuned, y'all.
