De’Andre steps on the floor with an edge that cannot be taught. This guard brings a defensive fire that sets the tone from the opening tip. He is a lefty who can get a bucket when needed, but what truly defines him is the pride he takes in locking up on D. To De’Andre, defense is not just part of his game, but fuels that DAWG in him. He plays with the mindset that every possession matters and approaches each stop like it is personal. His on-ball pressure is intense and disruptive. His anticipation jumps passing lanes, and his hands are quick and instinctive. When he digs in defensively, the entire energy of the team rises with him.

On the offensive end, De’Andre continues to grow into his role. He attacks the rim with more confidence than ever, showing improved ball handling and a willingness to play downhill. His biggest improvement from last season came as a handler and attacker, finding ways to break down defenders and create space. While he primarily operates with his left hand, he understands that expanding his right hand will unlock another level in his game. He is already putting emphasis on tightening his handles and becoming more comfortable finishing with either hand. That hunger to improve speaks volumes.

This past season, he averaged 6 points, 2 assists, 3 steals, and 1 rebound per game. But numbers only tell part of the story. Those 3 steals per game reflect the impact he makes defensively. Those assists show his willingness to move the ball and create for teammates. He may not have had headlines yet, but the foundation is being built brick by brick. With this being his first year stepping into the AAU world and preparing to try out for a team, a new chapter is unfolding. Exposure, competition, and experience will be major factors in his development.

Adversity does not shake him, but strengthens him. When faced with pressure or setbacks, he fights through them and refuses to let them bring him down. That mentality separates players who fade from players who rise. De’Andre understands that defense translates to offense and that team energy begins with effort. He brings that effort every time he steps on the court.

There is something powerful about a young guard who embraces the grind before the spotlight ever finds him. De’Andre is building his game from the ground up, anchored in toughness, growth, and a commitment to improving every weakness. The recognition may not be here yet, but the work is undeniable.

I assess that De’Andre is a defensive-minded guard whose identity is rooted in effort, toughness, and pride on that end of the floor. His ability to generate steals and disrupt rhythm gives him immediate value. The improvements in his ball handling and rim attacks show the game is evolving, and his willingness to address weaknesses like right-hand development signals maturity. His motor and resilience make him a player coaches can trust in competitive moments.

As he enters the AAU circuit for the first time, expect his confidence and offensive production to rise with increased reps and exposure. If he continues tighten his handles and balance his finishing ability with both hands, his overall efficiency will climb. With his defensive intensity already in place, the next step is expanding his offensive versatility and consistency. The potential is there for him to grow into a two-way guard who changes games with energy, stops, and timely scoring. He is just scratching the surface. Stay tuned.
