Joshua is a fierce competitor who thrives on physicality, athleticism, and a relentless defensive presence that sets the tone for his team. He uses his strength and versatility to guard multiple positions, smother opponents on the ball, and disrupt plays with his anticipation. His offensive game flows naturally from that energy, with the ability to stretch the floor as a shooter and attack with purpose when given space. Coaches should know they can count on him for hustle, high-IQ decisions, and an intensity that never lets up, whether he’s locking down on defense or hitting timely buckets.

In U18 Championship play, Joshua averaged 15 points per game with an estimated 8 rebounds and 2 assists, proving he can contribute in multiple ways. His biggest improvement was his shooting consistency and overall basketball IQ, which have transformed him into more than just a defensive anchor but now a reliable scoring option as well. This offseason, he’s locked in on developing guard skills, including tighter ball handling, improved floor vision, and the ability to create for teammates. Being selected for the Tasmanian U18 State Team was the most impactful moment of his year, affirming his growth and fueling his motivation to prove himself against elite competition. He thrives when the game gets physical or opponents try to get in his head, responding with even more fire and determination to dominate.

Joshua’s goals with Strive Basketball Australia were to show American coaches his value and prove his game translates across borders. He describes himself as always physical, always intense, and committed to letting his defense fuel his offense. Coaches can expect a player who embraces adversity, works harder with every setback, and turns challenges into motivation. The best advice that stuck with him most is, “When you make the wrong decision, instead of trying to fix it in the moment, make it the right decision and fix it later.”

Off the court, Joshua enjoys learning about how different mechanisms work and exploring the world beyond basketball. That same hunger to learn carries onto the court, where his drive to keep improving separates him from his peers and continues to build his ceiling higher.

I assess that Joshua’s toughness, defensive dominance, and growing offensive game give him the tools to make an immediate impact at the next level. His ability to guard, rebound, and stretch the floor provides versatility that can elevate any program.

As his ball handling, vision, and shot creation continue to evolve, Joshua’s potential to become a complete two-way force will only grow. Expect him to develop into a leader who not only brings defensive intensity but also delivers consistent scoring and high-IQ play, making him a valuable asset in every sense of the game.
