Eugenio Hernanz Martínez is a rising senior who has spent the last three seasons elevating his game at the Pablo Laso Academy, one of Europe's top development programs. His game is built on speed, athleticism, and nonstop energy. He loves playing fast, attacking in transition, bringing intensity on the defensive end, and making every possession exciting. His journey to DME started after leading his team to a championship at a showcase tournament in Madrid, where he earned Tournament MVP honors. That performance opened the door for an invitation to compete with DME in two tournaments in the United States this summer, and he has taken full advantage of the opportunity. DME rolled through the ESPN Tournament undefeated, winning all five games to take the championship, and Eugenio played a huge role throughout the event. His biggest performance came against East Coast Playaz, where he stuffed the stat sheet with 28 points, 11 rebounds, 6 steals, and 2 blocks while showing every part of his game. Through his time with DME, he has averaged an impressive 22 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 blocks per game, proving he can impact winning in every phase of the game.

The biggest improvement in Eugenio's game has come through countless hours of work on his shooting and ball-handling, but he believes his greatest improvement has been his one-on-one ability and finishing above the rim. Those additions have made him much more dangerous because defenders now have to respect him from multiple areas of the floor. Instead of relying on one strength, he has continued adding new weapons to his game that allow him to create scoring opportunities in different ways.

His path hasn't always been easy. When he first joined a high-level program, many teammates already had years of experience competing at that level, making it difficult to earn meaningful playing time. Rather than becoming discouraged, Eugenio trusted himself, continued working, attacked every practice with maximum energy, and slowly earned the confidence of his coaches. Those challenging months taught him patience, resilience, and the value of staying ready for every opportunity. The experience helped shape him not only into a better basketball player but also into a stronger young man.

Having experienced both international and American basketball, Eugenio has learned how different each style can be. International basketball places a heavy emphasis on team play, while the American game is faster, more physical, and allows individual talent to shine. That faster pace fits his strengths perfectly, and he has embraced the challenge by using his athleticism, aggressiveness, and ability to make plays in the open floor to thrive against high-level competition.

Away from the spotlight, Eugenio approaches his development with the same attention to detail that he brings during games. He takes nutrition, recovery, strength training, mental preparation, and skill development seriously because he understands every small detail matters. His dream is to continue his basketball journey at the NCAA level before eventually reaching the professional ranks, and every workout is another step toward making that dream a reality. This offseason, he has continued building his strength, improving his athleticism, and elevating every part of his skill set with the help of his coaches and strength trainer so he can be at his best when the season begins.

Although Eugenio has won championships and individual awards throughout his career, one experience stands above the rest. He was selected by Jordan Brand from thousands of players his age to compete in its tournament in Spain before advancing to the European Finals in London. Competing against elite talent from across Europe was special, but sharing breakfast with NBA stars Luka Dončić and Jayson Tatum while learning from them made the experience unforgettable. For Eugenio, it was a powerful reminder that every sacrifice, every workout, and every challenge had been leading toward moments like that.
