Jake is a cold-blooded shotmaker with a silky smooth touch and a non-stop motor. He brings a fierce edge to every possession, not just with his scoring but with his relentless rebounding and tenacious defense. His ability to control the glass and disrupt plays on the other end of the floor makes him a constant presence that opponents have to account for. Add in his smooth shooting touch, high basketball IQ, and unshakable demeanor, and you get a complete competitor who impacts winning in every way imaginable. Jake doesn’t just show up, he sets the tone. He plays with intensity, discipline, and the kind of fire that separates him from the pack.
This past season, Jake averaged 15.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.3 steals, and 1.6 assists per game, earning All-State Honorable Mention, 1st Team All-Region, and Conference Player of the Year honors. His biggest improvement was learning how to play at his own pace, staying in control, not letting the defense dictate his movements, and consistently finding the right looks. While already efficient and confident from deep, he’s focused this offseason on gaining more athleticism, tightening his handles, and mastering the art of reading and maneuvering through ball screens. His commitment to elevating every part of his game is matched by the relationships he’s built with his teammates and coaches, a chemistry that has become a key part of his success.
Jake is currently playing for Davis Brothers Elite, locking a strong finish on the NY2LA and 3SSB circuit. His goal is to build relationships with college coaches and earn the opportunity to compete at the next level. He’s also driven by team success, with the state championship on his radar and a mindset geared toward growth and leadership. Big plays from his teammates and pressure-packed moments fuel his energy, and when facing adversity, Jake takes a step back, prays, and resets, staying grounded in his faith and purpose.
He lives by the motto, “Play the game like it’s your last time stepping on the court,” and his every movement reflects that urgency. Off the floor, he enjoys fishing, hunting, and enjoying the outdoors. But when it’s time to work, Jake locks in with tunnel vision and a will to win.
I assess that Jake offers a rare combination of smooth perimeter scoring and gritty interior work. His rebounding, defensive energy, and mature understanding of the game give him the tools to immediately elevate any college program that values toughness and production.
As Jake continues to improve his explosiveness and handles, his impact will only grow. He’s already a proven leader, shotmaker, and force on the boards, expect him to keep evolving and force his name into more serious conversations by the end of his senior year. Stay tuned.
