Brooks is a confident young guard with an exciting combination of great court vision, fast feet, and relentless determination. He thrives as a playmaker, using quick bursts of blow-by-speed to freeze defenders, deliver thread-the-needle passes, and set up teammates for easy buckets. With a smooth shot and natural instincts as a floor leader, Brooks plays with a rare level of control for a freshman. His determination on both ends of the court separates him from others in his class. He doesn’t back down, plays with an edge, and keeps his motor high whether he’s scoring, defending, or running the offense.
He averaged around 16 points per game during his freshman season and 6–8 points per game on JV while dishing out 4–5 assists per game. Brooks is now determined to be more aggressive, especially when it comes to scoring and attacking off the dribble. His offseason focus is centered on getting stronger in the weight room, building speed and agility, and tightening his handle to better manage defensive pressure. The Tennessee Tigers will benefit from that hunger this AAU season, where Brooks plans to take on a leadership role and be a go-to guy every time he hits the floor.
Every tournament is an opportunity for Brooks to showcase his skill set, and he’s fired up to prove he belongs. He thrives on momentum plays, team runs, and tone-setting moments where his energy sparks everyone else. Heading into his sophomore season, his goals are to earn meaningful varsity minutes and test himself against high-level competition in one of Tennessee’s toughest counties. When facing adversity, Brooks doesn’t panic, he focuses on the next solution, locking in and battling through with toughness and composure. He knows the little details matter most, and it’s those habits that win games.
I assess that Brooks brings speed, playmaking vision, and scoring ability to the floor with a fearless mindset. His ability to push pace, set the table, and knock down shots makes him an asset to any system looking for an active, high-IQ guard. As he continues developing physically, he’ll become an even more dangerous two-way threat.
Expect Brooks to continue his rise as he gains strength, confidence, and varsity experience. With his quickness, competitive fire, and commitment to getting better, he’s on track to become a major contributor throughout his high school career and a name to watch. Stay tuned as he is just scratching the surface of how good he can be and sky-high potential.
