Zane has built his game on aggression, football IQ, power, and the versatility to make an impact on either side of the ball. He moves naturally with the football in his hands, understands how to find it when he's playing linebacker, and takes pride in being coachable enough to line up wherever his team needs him. There's a fierce edge to the way he plays, but there's also thought behind what he does because he studies what's happening around him instead of relying on athletic ability alone. That mix gives Zane a chance to impact a game in several different ways every game.

Three games into the season, Zane has already rushed for 470 yards on 53 carries while adding 55 receiving yards, 681 all-purpose yards, and 7 touchdowns. Those numbers show how electric he's been with the ball, but Zane quickly points to the teammates creating room for him to work. He stays in their ears through the good and bad, constantly encouraging the guys around him while asking his blockers for two yards so he can handle everything after that. Once he gets that space, his combination of power and quick moves can turn a small opening into something much bigger.

That attack was on full display against Lafayette Central Catholic when Zane carried 29 times for 219 yards and 2 touchdowns, piled up 267 all-purpose yards, and helped his team earn a 28-20 win. He felt good about the night but still saw chances to put more points on the board, showing that a strong performance doesn't leave him satisfied. His big guys up front played a major part in the success, and Zane made sure the credit went their way because he understands those running lanes begin with the work happening in front of him.

The biggest improvement in Zane’s offensive game has come from developing a more complete running style. He's trained to become dynamic with the ball by combining explosiveness and strength with elusiveness and shiftiness, giving defenders different problems depending on how they choose to attack him. That work has started showing up in a major way, and his ability to change his approach during a run makes him difficult to bring down when he gets moving.

His impact is just as strong when possession changes because Zane brings a different set of skills to linebacker. He studies how offensive positions operate and watches for tendencies in a runner’s movement, the quarterback’s presence, and the way the line moves. That knowledge helps him recognize what may be coming and puts him in position to strike when the chance presents itself. His defensive production has included tackles, a sack, 2 forced fumbles, and a recovery, showing the same playmaking ability that makes him dangerous on offense.

Zane has already earned accomplishments that show how far his work has taken him, including an IndyStar Player of the Week nomination and All-Conference honors last season. One moment stands above the rest for him this year, when he took the opening kickoff against Manchester 93 yards for a touchdown. Starting a game by taking the football the distance showed another side of his versatility and gave everyone an immediate look at the speed he spent the offseason building.

The offseason was built on becoming faster, stronger, and more explosive, and Zane entered this year with big goals for himself and his team. He wants to reach 1,500 rushing yards, 1,000 receiving yards, and 20 touchdowns offensively while chasing 100 tackles and 5 interceptions on defense. His team goals go beyond individual numbers because he believes they can get through sectionals and make a deep tournament run. Those targets give him something to chase every day while keeping winning at the center of what matters most.

Before the snap, Zane is already looking for an advantage. At running back, he studies possible cutbacks and openings he believes can catch a defense leaning the wrong way, giving him an idea of where daylight could develop once the play begins. His approach changes at linebacker, where he likes testing offensive linemen mentally and creating confusion that can free either himself or a teammate to make something happen. That awareness adds another layer to a game already loaded with physical ability.

Family support and the dream of playing college football and possibly beyond fuel Zane’s fire, giving him plenty of reasons to keep pouring everything he's into the sport. A coach can expect determination, nonstop energy, and a player determined to prove himself whenever he steps onto the field. Zane doesn't believe in taking plays off, and his mindset is focused on doing his job every snap while bringing everything he has for the people wearing the same jersey.

I assess that Zane is a powerful runner with quick feet, good vision, and enough shake to make defenders miss while still having the strength to fight through contact. His ability to contribute as a runner, receiver, returner, and defender makes him extremely valuable, while his awareness allows him to recognize openings and react quickly. He can create damage in space, grind out tough yards, chase down ball carriers, and turn one crease into a game-changing play.

What jumps out about Zane is the explosive balance within his skill set because he can bring thunder on one snap and make a defender miss on the next. His instincts give him an added advantage on defense, while his motor keeps him involved long after the initial action begins.
