Luke is a steady, fast-paced point guard who plays with poise and a team-first mindset. He shoots the three at a high clip and can get to the basket with control, showing a smooth balance between scoring and facilitating. His ability to create good shots for teammates, stay active defensively, and play within himself gives him a reliable presence on the court. With a calm confidence and a growing feel for the game, he continues to show signs of a player who’s learning how to run the show.

This past season as a sophomore, Luke made 15 threes for DC Everest, shooting over 40% from behind the arc and 87.5% from the free-throw line. He averaged 6 points per game and grew most in his ability to handle the ball under pressure. This offseason, he's focused on adding strength in the weight room and improving his conditioning to stay fresh through long stretches. Another area of focus is his pull-up jumper, which he’s working to make a consistent part of his scoring arsenal. Confidence played a big role in his development, by the end of the year, he looked more comfortable, more in control, and more ready to lead.

He’s playing this AAU season with UTC Fire and has set goals to compete for a Prep Hoops state title and finish with fewer than five losses. Looking ahead to next year, he’s excited about what DC Everest can achieve. The team chemistry is strong, and there’s a sense that this could be their breakout season. Luke thrives off the energy of his teammates and brings a competitive spirit every time he steps on the floor.

When things don’t go as planned, he focuses on the next play and looks for ways to learn from the moment. One piece of advice from his high school coach that stuck with him is to “set the tone early” by being prepared, aggressive, and physical from the opening tip. Off the court, he’s an honor roll student with a 3.69 GPA who takes school seriously. He also enjoys golf and fishing, using both as ways to relax and reset outside of basketball.

I assess that Luke’s outside shooting and composure with the ball give him the foundation of a solid floor general. As he continues to get stronger and expand his game, he could grow into a dependable piece for a program looking for a steady-handed point guard.

With another year of growth and experience, Luke is moving in the right direction. His ability to space the floor, make smart decisions, and bring energy to both ends makes him a player to keep an eye on as he continues to develop. Expect his game and his varsity playing time to increase this coming season , and his potential and impact to continue to evolve. Stay tuned.
