Will isn't chasing attention, rankings, or easy roads, but growth, tougher competition, and every opportunity to become the best version of himself. The forward at Lucy Beckham High School plays with an edge that comes from believing nobody will outwork him. He describes himself as relentless, the one diving for every loose ball, battling for every rebound, embracing every matchup, and doing whatever it takes to help his team win. Add in the ability to play all five positions with a smooth shooting touch, and the biggest thing that separates him is simple in his mind. He believes he wants it more than the person standing across from him, and he plays every possession determined to prove it.

Will's sophomore season at Palmetto Christian became a year filled with lessons and memorable moments. He averaged 19 points per game while continuing to expand his game, but he also realized he needed a new challenge. His favorite memory came on a dramatic half-court game-winner to beat Charleston Collegiate, a shot that perfectly captured his confidence when the moment demanded someone to step forward. Although his AAU season with the Charleston Raptors has been frustrating because of missed opportunities to close out games, he refuses to let wins and losses define his summer. Instead, he has used every tournament, every possession, and every matchup as another chance to elevate his overall game, believing improvement today creates opportunities tomorrow.

That mindset is exactly what led to his decision to transfer to Lucy Beckham. Will wanted stronger competition, greater exposure, and a chance to test himself against higher-level talent every night. The transition has been smooth, and the arrival of new head coach Kevin Hammock has only increased his excitement. With an experienced coach leading the program, Will believes he has someone who can help push him toward the next level while putting him in a position to earn the attention of nearby shoe-circuit programs. Rather than searching for comfort, he intentionally chose the path that demanded more from him because growth has always been worth the sacrifice.

The biggest jump in his game has come with his shooting, and it wasn't something that happened overnight. Countless hours have been poured into refining his mechanics, building confidence, and repeating the same shots until they became second nature. One area that once frustrated him was free-throw shooting during the high school season, but instead of accepting it as a weakness, he attacked it with purpose. That work has already paid off as he has raised his free-throw percentage to over 75 percent during travel season, showing that determination always leaves fingerprints on improvement.

Even with that progress, Will isn't satisfied. His biggest offseason focus is becoming more explosive with his first step, knowing that creating separation even quicker will open even more opportunities around the basket and on the perimeter. He studies film, watches instructional videos, and continues searching for ways to add another layer to his game because standing still has never been part of his plan. Every workout is fueled by goals that reach far beyond one season and one team.

Long before anyone was watching, basketball had already captured his heart. As a kid, he spent countless hours watching highlights of great players and dreaming about one day creating moments of his own. One of the biggest sources of motivation still comes from not making his 15U travel team, a disappointment that could have broken his confidence but instead became fuel that still burns today. Every workout, every sprint, and every extra shot carries a little bit of that memory, reminding him that setbacks only become permanent when someone decides to quit.

When coaches watch Willp, they can expect relentless effort from the opening tip until the final buzzer. They will see someone willing to fight for every loose ball, embrace every assignment, and compete with everything he has while representing both his team and his faith in Christ. His passion for the game shows through his energy, his hustle, and his refusal to back away from difficult moments because those are the moments he believes reveal who someone really is.

As he prepares for the upcoming season at Lucy Beckham, Will has his sights set on helping his team win a region championship and making a deep playoff run. Beyond that, he hopes his continued growth earns him the opportunity to compete for a local shoe circuit program, giving him another stage to continue proving himself. His journey has never been about taking the easiest path. It has always been about chasing bigger goals, embracing tougher competition, and trusting that relentless work will eventually open every door he has been chasing.

I assess that Will brings versatility that coaches love because he can impact the game in several different ways without needing the offense built around him. His size, willingness to battle, improved shooting, and relentless motor allow him to affect winning on both ends of the floor. The hunger to keep improving instead of becoming comfortable gives him plenty of upside as he continues developing physically and adding explosiveness to his game.

Will's ceiling continues to rise because of the way he approaches improvement and embraces competition instead of avoiding it. His confidence is backed by work, his faith keeps him grounded, and his competitive spirit shows up on every possession.
