Player Spotlight: Braedy Johnston - Shady Spring High School

Braedy Johnston

6'2, 165 lbs

Class of '26

Shady Spring High School.

Braedy Johnston put on a scoring clinic, scoring at will from downtown with a beautiful touch. He also showed his prowess in the midrange game and got out on the break for a few easy ones. Although he started slow, he eventually went off. But what stood out was his excellent passing, as this star can drop a sweet dime. Bready was rock-solid on defense and a natural on the boards. He moved extremely well without the ball.

Bready's goal for the upcoming season is to push hard for a starting position and help impact his team in the drive to win the state championship. Finding his role is his driving force, bringing whatever is needed to push this team to that level. What separates Braedy is his high basketball IQ, always trying to make the right play. His focus isn't locked into individual stats but being the ultimate team player, doing what he has to do to impact every game.

As Braedy continues to elevate his skills, he is on the path to becoming a mid to low-level D2 or D3 player. However, the ceiling is high, and he continues to improve every time I see him.
