Ryder is a dynamic guard who can impact the game on both ends of the floor. With strong ball-handling and crafty vision, he’s able to set teammates up with smooth dimes while keeping defenses honest with his quick-trigger jumper. He can rain threes from deep or pull up off the bounce with confidence, but what separates him most is his defensive tenacity. Averaging over 5 steals per game, Ryder has built a reputation as a lockdown defender who thrives on shutting down opponents and sparking fast-break opportunities. Add in his ability to finish at the rim and a growing vertical as he trains to dunk in-game, and he brings a versatile edge to every possession.

Last season marked a turning point, as Ryder began to elevate his game midway through the year. His biggest improvement came in his shooting, where he’s now become more reliable and confident, hitting shots, especially in clutch moments. Coaches can expect him to always bring high-level defense, energy, and effort, while his offseason focus has been on further improving his shooting consistency and learning how to create more space to give his teammates easy buckets.

His AAU season was fueled by goals bigger than personal stats; he wanted to help his team post positive records in each tournament and push his teammates to improve along the way. On the court, what fires him up most are team scoring runs and the momentum that comes with them. When facing adversity, Ryder depends on communication with his coaches and teammates to reset, stay calm, and keep competing. The best advice he has received from his coaches is, "Play with a short memory and a relentless mentality: “If you take 9 shots and miss them all, why let 9 seconds affect a 40-minute game?” That has shaped his toughness and approach.

Looking ahead, Ryder is locked in on helping his team chase a district championship. He’s motivated, improving every day, and ready to make his presence felt as a playmaker, defender, and clutch shooter. Off the court, he enjoys being outdoors, spending time at church, and hanging with friends, grounded in faith, family, and a love for the game.

I assess that Ryder’s combination of elite defensive instincts, playmaking vision, and improved shooting gives him the tools to make an immediate impact. His energy and hustle set the tone, while his ability to score in multiple ways adds an extra dimension to his game. He can elevate a program through leadership, effort, and consistency.

With his confidence growing and his skill set expanding, Ryder is poised for a breakout season. His defensive dominance, along with improved shot-making and playmaking ability, positions him as a rising prospect in his class. Expect him to continue developing into a well-rounded guard who thrives in big moments and leads with heart and determination. Stay tuned to see how high he flies this upcoming season and beyond.
