Garyn is an electric combo guard with a deep bag, a quick trigger, and a game that thrives under pressure. He’s a fearless bucket-getter with elite shot-making ability from all three levels and the creativity to make defenders look lost. His handle is shifty, his release is quick, and his instincts are fierce. Whether he's pulling up off the bounce, hitting shots off the catch, or weaving through traffic for tough finishes, Garyn plays with relentless confidence. He brings energy, leadership, and production every time he steps on the floor, validated by a freshman season where he averaged a jaw-dropping 22.3 points, 5.4 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game, with a season high of 36.

This summer, Garyn took a major step forward. Playing up in 16U competition on the Puma Circuit, he proved he belonged by averaging 12.3 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game against older, more experienced talent. He started every game despite being a year younger and played a major role for the J.A.G. Elite Jaguars. His goal was to challenge himself at the next level, and he did exactly that. In one standout performance, he torched In and Out Elite with lights-out perimeter shooting, staying efficient throughout the game and using crafty drives to keep defenders off balance. His defensive growth was also a point of emphasis. Often underrated on that end, Garyn showed he could get stops just as easily as he gets buckets, locking in on his matchups and playing with toughness.

Garyn’s biggest improvement this offseason has come in confidence, leadership, and aggressive offensive attack. He’s in the gym working on lateral quickness, defensive IQ, and building strength for even more explosiveness. Coaches can expect him to lead vocally and by example, make winning plays, and be the best shooter on the court. He’s also been recognized for that work, earning an invitation to the USA Basketball Gold Camp in Omaha this August, one of the highest honors for rising underclassmen nationally. And with his recent #6 ranking in Arkansas for the Class of 2028 via Prep Hoops, he’s making it clear that this isn’t just hype, it’s real.

His fire comes from momentum, whether it’s hitting a big shot or seeing a teammate make a clutch play, Garyn feeds off the energy and turns it up even more. When facing adversity, he remembers the work, trusting the reps. The best advice he’s ever received is. “Trust your abilities. Play free.” Off the court, he enjoys spending time with family, going to church, and watching the game he loves.

I assess that Garyn is a high-level shooter, skilled playmaker, and fierce competitor who can take over games without forcing the issue. His ability to score, create, and lead at a young age makes him a rising name to watch closely across Arkansas and beyond.

With continued strength training and defensive growth, Garyn has the potential to be one of the most complete guards in the 2028 class from anywhere. He’s proven he can produce against older competition, and with a varsity leadership role ahead, expect even more breakout moments this season. Stay tuned.
