5’4, 135lbs, Class of 2026

Grand Rapids Christian HS, MI

Magnolia is a fierce scoring option and a sniper from deep, raining shots with confidence and efficiency. She thrives as a high-level shooter, consistently hitting 37–40% from behind the arc while also bringing a gritty edge defensively. Quick, instinctive, and athletic, she turns defense into offense in a flash, mixes it up on the boards, and even surprises opponents with timely shot blocks despite her size. Her playmaking ability and leadership set her apart, as she leads by example and makes the right reads to put her team in the best position to succeed.

This past season, Magnolia averaged 10.2 points per game at Grand Rapids Christian, hitting over 50 threes. During AAU, she elevated her game even further, averaging 12.25 points per game, shooting 37% from beyond the arc, and hitting over 60 threes with an impressive 52% effective field goal percentage. Her biggest improvement has been driving to the rim and finishing as a smaller guard, using her shiftiness and court vision to score and create opportunities for her teammates. This offseason, she is focused on building strength and explosiveness to help on the boards and protect against injuries after her AAU campaign was cut short by a fractured fibula. Injury prevention, strength training, and explosiveness are at the top of her goals as she prepares for the next level.

Playing under Coach Mike Dokter has been one of the most impactful parts of her career, instilling confidence and development both as a player and person. Magnolia describes herself as selfless yet confident, always making the right play while trusting her teammates. Coaches can expect a relentless worker who competes in every practice and game, a leader by example who brings energy and toughness every possession, and a reliable shooter who steps up in key moments. Her AAU goals of averaging double digits, improving defense, and finishing were achieved, but her hunger to grow remains strong.

Looking ahead, Magnolia is excited to compete at the high school level with her friends, thrive in high-pressure moments, and stack victories while enjoying the game she loves. What fires her up most is celebrating big plays with her teammates and feeling the energy shift when they take the lead. When facing adversity, she views it as an opportunity to grow, repeating the wisdom a coach once told her: “Everything great comes on the other side of hard.” The best advice she’s received from Edward Leblanc of PGC Basketball was, “Most people give up right before their breakthrough.” That reminder fuels her to stay patient, push through slumps, and trust that her breakthrough is always coming.

Off the court, Magnolia enjoys playing the piano, running, and spending time with friends. Her love for basketball, dedication to improvement, and commitment to her teammates show in everything she does, making her a complete competitor with a bright future.

I assess that Magnolia’s shooting ability, leadership, and defensive instincts give her a skill set that immediately benefits any program. She has the combination of confidence, IQ, and grit, with the versatility to create offense while also setting the tone on defense. Her relentless work ethic ensures she will continue to grow into an even more impactful player.

As Magnolia strengthens her body and continues to expand her offensive arsenal, she is poised to evolve into a complete guard with the ability to control games on both ends. Her selfless approach, combined with her fierce competitiveness, makes her a player to watch moving forward. Expect her to keep raining shots, leading with composure, and proving herself as a dangerous scoring threat and floor leader at every level she plays. Stay tuned to see just how high she flies.
