Hendrix is an explosive athlete who thrives getting out in transition. In constant offensive attack mode, where he gets shots for himself or creates opportunities for his team, Hendrix puts contact pressure on the defense, constantly pushing the pace. Hendrix is a fierce finisher at the rim. Hendrix is anything but one demitional as can torch the nets from three land very effectively at a high percentage.

As a freshman phenom at Westside High School and a key player for AAU’s WV Hustle Made Hoops, Cook has already established himself as a scoring force with an impressive average of 20 points per game during his first season. Cook is determined to elevate his game further, particularly on the defensive end, and he is looking to focus on perfecting his defensive game to match his offensive skills.

Hendrix's ability to push the game's pace and find open teammates showcases his basketball IQ and leadership on the court. These qualities will be critical as he and his team prepare for what he feels will be a promising season with the potential for a deep tournament run because of their depth and ultimately making it to Charleston for the state tournaments.

Confidence has been a cornerstone of Hendrix's game, instilled by advice he holds close. “The best advice Hendrix has received is to be confident in his abilities and not be afraid to take that tough shot.” That confidence has paid off, as one of Hendrix’s proudest achievements is his improved scoring ability—a testament to his work ethic and determination.

When Hendrix is not on the court, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, along with conditioning and weight training to prepare for the next stage of his career. “I feel the sky is the limit with hard work and determination,” he states, setting his sights on playing at the collegiate level. His summer has been a busy one, attending camps at Concord University, West Liberty University, and other invites to sharpen his skills and impress college scouts.

Hendrix is excited about the upcoming season and is discussing a key matchup against a county rival. Hendrix is most looking forward to our game against our county rivals,” he says, embracing the challenge and competition that fuels his fire.

Adversity is no stranger to Hendrix, but it’s a challenge he welcomes. “Facing tough adversity on the court is a challenge Hendrix Ikes to take head-on. Hendrix composes himself to keep his teammates on track and just look to make that next play.” With such a mindset, there’s no doubt that Hendrix will continue to grow both as a player and a leader.

As Hendrix enters his sophomore season, his combination of raw talent, explosive playmaking, and relentless determination is what college scouts should take note of—Hendrix is a rising star with an unwavering commitment to his game, and his best is yet to come.

I assess that Hendrix is yet another one in a long line of dynamic guards out of WV who will make a lot of noise for years to come. Hendrix's next-level potential is extremely high because of all he can bring right now. There is no doubt Hendrix's skills will continue to grow and evolve, making him a well-known name. Coaches should be putting this young star on their big boards now. Stay tuned for another monster season.
