"High Flyer with a Hunger: The Fierce Versatility of a Game-Changer"

Frederrick Ford

@ford_prodigy

6’5, 185lbs, Class of ‘27

Greenwood High School, MS

Frederrick is a dynamic, high-octane force with the kind of athleticism that immediately turns heads. He’s a walking mismatch, combining blazing speed, finesse off the bounce, and punishing strength at the rim. He thrives in transition, where his explosive bounce and fearless finishing create highlight-reel moments, but he’s just as dangerous in the halfcourt, mixing it up in traffic and attacking with purpose. Frederrick is a dominant rebounder with a relentless motor who goes after the ball like every board belongs to him. His vision and feel for the game are next-level, he can drop sweet dimes in tight spaces and keep teammates involved with unselfish play. With three-level scoring ability, defensive toughness, and the instincts to control the glass and ignite the break, he delivers a full-throttle performance every time out.

This past season, Frederrick averaged 17 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals per game. His biggest improvement came in his assist-to-turnover ratio, showcasing his growth as a smart decision-maker and floor general. As he gears up for next season, he's focused on becoming more aggressive on offense and stepping up vocally to guide his team. Falling short of the semi-finals was a wake-up call, and now he’s on a mission to bring Greenwood all the way. The hunger to win fuels his every move and few things fire him up more than seeing his teammates throw it down. Through adversity, he stays composed, locked in, and focused on what needs to be done. The best advice he’s ever received is, “Practice becomes your habit,” and it's evident in the way he plays.

Off the court, Frederrick is just as electric. He’s the state runner-up in the high jump and earned All-District Super Team honors in football, adding more proof to his elite athletic abilities. Away from the grind, he keeps things balanced by kicking back with video games, but once it’s game time, the switch flips, and he’s all business.

I assess that Frederrick’s rare mix of rebounding toughness, playmaking ability, and above-the-rim explosiveness makes him a major threat at the next level. Coaches can count on him to set the tone physically and mentally while also elevating teammates with his vision and selflessness. He brings an edge and energy that changes the flow of a game.

As he continues developing his offensive aggression and vocal leadership, Frederrick is positioned to explode as a dominant two-way player. The foundation is already strong, with added maturity and that fire to win, he’s evolving into becoming one of the most complete and impactful players in his class. Stay tuned for a breakout season as he is determined to lead his team to a deeper playoff run this season with passion and purpose. Locked and loaded.
