Luke is a high-speed floor general who plays with energy, IQ, and an explosive skill set that commands attention. A dynamic point guard with a flamethrower from deep, he can torch defenders from beyond the arc or knife through lanes to collapse the defense and create for others. He shoots the three at a high clip, but it’s his pace, vision, and ability to stay one step ahead that separates him. Luke sees the game like a veteran and plays with confidence, control, and a competitive edge that fuels his team. Coaches can expect a leader who sets the tone early, brings contagious energy, and thrives on making the right play under pressure.
As a sophomore, Luke shot threes at over a blistering 40% and 87.5% at the free-throw line. His biggest improvement came in ball handling, getting up the court quicker, navigating pressure with more composure, and commanding the floor with confidence. That confidence grew steadily throughout the varsity season, and now, Luke’s determined to take another leap this offseason. He’s locked in on strength and conditioning, building a stronger frame to stay active and aggressive for more extended stretches while also working to sharpen his pull-up jumper and impact the game more as a rebounder on both ends.
On the AAU circuit, Luke is lacing up for UTC Fire with one goal: win the Prep Hoops State Championship and keep the season losses under five. But his eyes are also set on what’s next. At DC Everest, he sees this as the breakout year, not just for himself but for a group of teammates who’ve grown up playing together and are ready to chase a conference title and make a deep playoff run. That chemistry, the trust, and the shared passion are what drive Luke. He feeds off his team’s energy and uses it to fuel his fire every time he steps on the floor.
When facing adversity , Luke thinks forward. It’s always about the next play, the next moment, and the next way to get better. The best coaching advice he’s ever received is, "Set the tone early, be prepared, aggressive, and physical from the jump." He’s a competitor who leads with intention and brings his all on both ends.
Off the court, Luke is just as focused. He’s an honor roll student with a 3.69 GPA and takes pride in the work he puts in the classroom. When he’s not in the gym or in school, he’s outdoors clearing his mind with a round of golf or a peaceful day fishing, quiet moments that balance the intensity he brings to the court.
I assess that Luke is a high-IQ point guard with elite shooting touch and the pace to push any system forward. His growth as a decision-maker and leader makes him a weapon in the backcourt, especially for programs looking for a guard who can shoot, set the tone, and elevate everyone around him.
With continued strength development and added scoring versatility, Luke is poised for a breakout junior year. Expect him to make waves on both the high school and AAU scene as a true tone-setter who’s just scratching the surface of his potential. Stay tuned.
