Roman plays the game at a different speed, and not just physically, mentally too. His whole approach is built around pushing the pace, turning defense into instant offense, and putting constant pressure on teams before they even get set. Easy points are the best points, and Roman makes a living creating them. Whether it’s ripping a rebound and taking off, sprinting the lane wide to open the floor, or reading the defense on the fly, he brings a transition style that keeps everything moving. He’s loud, he’s active, and he’s everywhere, constantly communicating, lifting energy, and making sure his presence is felt in every possession.

His production backs it up. During the WABL season, he averaged 14.76 points, 7.36 rebounds, 3.47 assists, 2.52 steals, 1.71 deflections, and 0.82 blocks per game, showing just how much he impacts the game across the board. That stat line tells the full story of a player who isn’t locked into one role; he’s doing everything. Scoring, rebounding, creating, disrupting, and defending at a high level while playing with pace and purpose. His ability to push the ball off defense and instantly flip momentum is one of his biggest weapons.

The biggest improvement in his game came with his shooting and his defensive pressure. He’s become more reliable as a shooter while also taking pride in making life difficult for opposing ball handlers. That combination forces defenses to respect him, and when they do, he’s already attacking the next opening. His focus now is tightening his handles under heavy pressure and playing more off two feet, adding even more control and versatility to his game.

Adapting was a major part of his season. A change in coaches and system forced him to adjust, learn new roles, and embrace a different style of play. That kind of shift can shake players, but Roman pushed through it, using it as a chance to grow and expand his game. That ability to adjust and still produce speaks to his feel and awareness.

There’s unfinished business fueling everything. A heated state championship loss still sits with him, and that rematch is circled. That edge, that hunger to get back and flip that result, is driving his offseason and everything he’s building toward. He doesn’t care who’s at the top of the ladder; he believes he can compete with anyone and help his team get to number one.

What coaches can expect is energy that changes the game. Communication that raises everyone. A player who sprints, defends, helps, rebounds, and pushes the tempo without needing plays called for him. If shots aren’t falling, he’s doing the dirty work, crashing the boards, setting hard screens, making winning plays. That mindset is built around one thing, doing whatever it takes to win.

That mentality has been shaped through growth and adversity. Learning to move on quickly, to live by “next play” and attack the next possession like it’s the first chance, has changed how he approaches the game. There’s no dwelling, no hesitation, just constant forward movement and impact.

Off the court, Roman enjoys finding new food spots, appreciating the small things, and staying balanced. There’s personality there too, with a large cologne collection showing a different side of him beyond the court. But what really drives him runs deeper. He’s playing for his grandmother, and that gives everything he does a purpose that goes beyond basketball.

He’s also carrying something bigger with him, representing Australian basketball with pride and a mission to show that talent from anywhere in the world can compete and thrive. With interest from NCAA Division III programs and a plan to go the JUCO route to keep rising, Roman is building his path step by step with no shortcuts and no limits.

I assess that Roman is a versatile high-motor player who impacts the game in multiple ways with rebounding, transition play, defensive activity, and playmaking. His ability to push pace, communicate, and bring consistent energy makes him a difference maker every time he steps on the floor.

As his handles improve under pressure and his control playing off two feet continues to grow, his overall game will keep rising. His combination of size, effort, IQ, and all-around production gives him strong value at the next level and the ability to fit into multiple systems while helping teams win. Stay tuned.
